Title: Summer footwear
Post by: sc0ttie on 01 April 2015, 09:09:58 pm
Well summer is approaching. What do you all wear on your feet when riding in hot summer weather? Any boot recommendations less than £150?

Same all year around for me - 10 year old pair of sidi vertebra, its odd my feet dont get cold in winter or hot in summer, or not so much either way as to become a distraction

I've bought a pair of these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spada-Icon-WP-Boots-Black/dp/B006T09E2K (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spada-Icon-WP-Boots-Black/dp/B006T09E2K)

Mega cheap and allegedly waterproof! Ankle boots- easy to get on and off.

Time will tell if they're up to the job . . .

Liz and I both wear Alpinestars S-MX 5 boots - feel as comfy as slippers when on your feet, waterproof, great protection, but still not overly hot even when touring in southern France and Spain.

And available at lots of places for under £150 (Bikersworld outlets for example).

Sidi Gortex all year round, same as what Fazersharp says they are fine hot or cold and even walking

Some good boots here!

You can't go wrong with CE rated protection, the mankini looks a bit on the large size Keith, I'd go smaller-

You don't want to appear overdressed, particularly in the NE!  :lol

The boots look pretty good, do they have any reinforcement in them? Not sure the mankini is offering enough protection tbh lol

Speaking of flip flops . . .

Broke down at side of road in Norfolk and as I fiddled with the engine a bloke pulled alongside, "Oi, mate! You look like you need a tow!"
"What makes you think that?" I replied, sarcastically.
"Well," he said, looking down at my flip-flops, "you've only got 10." (apologies to all Norfolk foccers)

Went to local petrol station and there was nothing coming out of the nozzle. I walked in and said, "Have you got your pumps on?
He replied, "No, I'm wearing flip-flops."

I can't wait for summer. Low-cut tops, short skirts, flip-flops...
Although admittedly they do make me look a bit gay. . .  :groan

My boots were a bit drafty in the cold weather so I'm hoping should be ok in the summer. (TCX Explorer)
