Hi all
I'm thinking of changing the standard screen on my 98 FZS. While not as bad as a naked bike I seem to get an awful amount of buffeting at motorway speeds. Has anyone tired these?

The other alternative is a double bubble or maybe a flip top thingummy.

That says "standard screen" ?
-
I think you will find that on our bikes it makes little to no difference other that the looks.
I brought a DB screen got everything ready- tools etc and did a run with the OEM screen and quickly swapped over and did the same run --- no difference, and in the interest of science I am 5'8"
-
I found the double bubble works better for me and certainly looks nicer in my opinion I'm 6'1". However some people find it directs the airflow even more into their face causing more strain on neck...

It does say standard screen but it looks a bit different. I'm a tad under 6ft so maybe the double bubble is the way to go.
-
I found DB a lot better on a Foxeye. Had it on for about 8 years now. Takes the wind away from chest and neck. Motorways are now a doddle. I'm 5 ft 11. I guess it depends on your height and riding position.
-
It also says R1 on it. I think its a generic picture to show the gradient tint and not specific FZS600 screen
-
Also says PUIG, don't they have a website or are sold by busters or someone?
-
I had d/b screens on two of my 3 boxeyes, made life a Hell of a lot more comfy for my 6'1" frame.
Standard screen on my last boxeye didn't work too well for me.

I'm about to order this one for my foxeye, in smoke grey: https://www.mrashop.de/erp/catalog/navigationPath//1.Sortiment/0.html?mral=1&type=%28436%2C19%2C0%29&form=%28165%2C20%2C0%29&spr=D (https://www.mrashop.de/erp/catalog/navigationPath//1.Sortiment/0.html?mral=1&type=%28436%2C19%2C0%29&form=%28165%2C20%2C0%29&spr=D)
I think it would make a big difference at higher speeds, considering I'm 6'2" and this company seems to be making quality products (purchasable at Louis.eu as well).

Not my cup of tea, but another option, that would probably work quite well i'd imagine.

That would look disgusting on Fazers.

More for the people who keep whinging about wind in their faces, if you're doing the mileage and it works then so be it. :lol
-
To be fair though, I think double bubbles make the front of the boxeye look like a pregnant guppy.
I'm 6'3", long of leg, and found the stock screen fine. Not tried others, admittedly, but happy with the stock setup. If that Puig clipon thing works for you, knock yourself out.

My bike had a double bubble on it when i bought it, but looked like some numpty had cleaned it with with a wire brush or something abrasive. Bought a standard one, i much prefer the look of it.
Mind you i don't do long distances on mine every day so don't have any wind issues. :lol
-
My mate has one of these on his crossrunner, really suits that sort of bike and he says it helps him, but as said before, everyone has their own taste :-D
"so don't have any wind issues". :lol
Ha ha
I don't think a screen would help my 'wind issue's lol but that's another story :-P

I am 6' 3'' and hate motorway riding - standard or DB screen - it makes no difference - anything over 70mph then I have to lean forward to avoid the buffeting. Overtaking juggernauts is particularly bad.

Strange... what's your leg length? I have no issues.
-
Its not the screen its the whole design of the fairing I dont think it was ever designed for wind protection in the first place, more rather for looks than anything else, so all we are left to do is bung on some aftermarket screens in a failed attempt to improve things.
No doubt that the fairing is better than nothing but im sure if it was designed in a wind tunnel it would be much better, like those street triples and mt 09s that although have no fairing they have the shape and designof the lights and clocks to do the job --dont they ?

As the LoFos will attest, my old 33hp Fazer did a fair bit more than 70.... My highest recorded was 110 indicated (on a long private road). Didn't have too many issues!

Until you had to stop :lol

Until you had to stop :lol
Did that fine too! :finger

I tuck down at motorway speed. Problem solved and you get an instant 10kmh increase in speed at the same throttle position :lol

So this screen arrived today and took me literally 5min to mount it.
Haven't tried riding with it yet, but it will surely provide better cover at high speeds than stock one.
The quality is good, but not as good as the stock one (no problems with it whatsoever though).

And another one:

For now, I think I like it. Time will tell - I never had different screen than stock in 12 years, which is for how long I have my Fazer.
Of all the screens I've seen, this one looked the least harmful to stock feel, which I like.
