Title: Gear storage....
Post by: Mike01 on 21 March 2015, 12:25:54 pm
Hi guys
Just wondering what if any of you use to store clothing gloves etc in a garage with no heating. It's not damp but far from ideal to just put things on an open shelf.
In the house is not an option and as it currently lives in the boot of my car is far from ideal.

Thoughts anyone.
Mike.

Have you got space in the garage to add an old wardrobe so you can put your gear in. Ventilation in the top and a greenhouse heater tube style heater in the bottom. Should do the job.

Just my 2p.

I have plenty of room for that, would have to be mouse proof though  :\

Can't you find room for it in the house ?

Mine lives on top of the wardrobe in the spare room.

No room, I have been told... seriously though I need to store in the garage, my new summer gear will be here soon so that's two sets of clothing etc.

Just don't want any of it to suffer as a result.

Either bolt it to the garage wall then or stand it on a metal plinth. It's a good cheap winner.

Good luck.

No room, I have been told...

Is changing your Mrs an option you would consider?

I would start with some mouse traps then make the garage mouse proof? if you can a pencil in a mouse can get in, or so they say. the main thing with leather is ventilation and dryness or they will be mouldy in no time.
Or go with Kosmic and get rid of the Mrs?

If its the Mrs tell her to ditch some handbags, if its your mum tell her being outside weakens the leather and stitching

Got a wardrobe coming Thursday, gear is all textile, will mouse proof the storage and add something to help with any damp.

At first glance I thought you'd written bikini gear. What a difference 1 letter makes, either way pictures are always welcome.

I did mean bikini gear.........girls keep turning me down and complaining that 2 mins (and 12mm) isn't long enough so it's got to be worth a punt.

I think Mike in a Mankini with the Mrs AND his mum in skimpy bikinis bending over and groping the wardrobe knobs....just to cater for all the age groups  :lol

You sir must comply with the site rules of pictures being posted of anything new.
