Following my ignition fix and the relevant tear down of the front of the bike, I noticed a couple of things regarding the headlight on my bike, can anyone answer the following:
There was a single yellow wire taped to the headlight main bulb loom, not going anywhere. Any ideas what this could be?
No bulb in the parking/side light hole. Should there be?
Thanks.

Looking at the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual it appears to be for the headlamp flasher switch.

Err, probably!

Thanks for the info.
Odd about the cable, I'm sure my flasher switch works! I'll try it again.
Also, it'd just had an MOT when I purchased it, but no bulb!
Now off to the shed to try the flash!

re. side light, as the headlight is on all the time maybe the tester missed it? it's on till you start the engine and if you turn the key anti-clockwise past the off to park, also my Flash doesn't work through lack of use, I never use it but did try it a few years ago.

I'll get a bulb and see if the sidelight works this weekend.
With regards to the headlight flasher, that works fine!
Update - It looks like the yellow cable could be the connection for the Main Beam indicator.
Update2 - It was. It had snapped away from a small connector. Connected it back up and away we go.

Ah, yes, that's the other end!
Glad you got it sorted :thumbup
