hello ray here I am 46 and currently riding a Honda cbr 125 r-d hopefully taking my part 2 in a few weeks,i have brought a fazer 600 from a friend in my village who has finished riding as he is now in his late 70's the bike is a 06 and has only covered 8,000 miles it starts and runs fine but when I put it in gear it stalls straight away but does try to move folward, just wondered how I test side stand switch and clutch switch bike has been stood for 2 years in a garage I pushed it home when I brought it only realizing this fault when I tried to ride it in the private grounds where we live any help would be great just don't want ripping off by a garage.

Clean up the side stand switch first with WD40 or similiar. It might just be sticking in after being stood for 2 years.

Sidestand does sound like a likely culprit. WD40, and push it a few times with a small screwdriver to ensure the WD penetrates
