Title: new from Cornwall
Post by: mark747eagle on 04 February 2012, 05:15:13 pm
I've had a gen 1 Fazer 1000 for a few years - decided it's time I joined.  Just been through the Exup problem.  Fitted a new-ish one from a Gen 1 R1 - so back on the road now.  The original was so seized in the mounting plate no amount of heating and battering would move it.
I was horrified at the cots of a replacement - about £450 from Fowlers.

£450!! Thats got to be a good enough reason to strip and lube your exup valves at regular intervals. Welcome to the site  :)

Thanks!  Well I never did as a previous owner had been at the bolts with a knife and fork!  Had to drill the buggers out. :-)

Spring is here!   It's about 19c today.  Trying to get the work finished off on Fazer so I can hit the road. :-)
