What's the best way to secure crash lid to the bike when you can't be bothered to lug it around. It's an 04 FZ6S. I done a quick google and came across one way where someone used a wire cable and hooked and locked onto the rear peg but they did say if it rained water would find it's way in.

I use a combination bike lock. It's long enough to put through the sleeve on my jacket so I can leave that as well on the seat and through the grab rails.

No idea how good they are, but these may be of interest:

I use a sturdy plastic bag and combination lock. Works a treat, even when I leave the bike at the airport.

Thanks for the links and suggestions 8) It's a shame the luggage gear is so expensive as I might have opted for the full panniers and top box. Will probably go for the combination lock for now as I'm planning on doing a few trips out and don't like the idea of lugging the lid and heavy jacket around, especially on a hot summers day - when they do arrive :lol

Combination locks are the easiest to 'crack'. Ok I guess but I wouldn't leave a fancy high price lid protected with one.
I've got a pacsafe mesh bag and they work well, just upgrade the padlock if you get one as they're a bit on the weak side.
I quite like the look of the Oxford bag and lock though, nice idea that.
