Title: Fitting aftermarket exhaust.
Post by: digger on 15 January 2015, 11:22:33 am
Hi, Ive just purchased a Fazer 600 2002 and want to fit an after market exhaust. The bike has already got stainless down pipes with a standard can. Can anyone tell me if there is likely to be a metal gasket where the link pipe of the new can join the down pipes? I hope that makes sense. many thanks.

inside the original can, if its not been off too often, you may find a fibre type gasket that goes around the downpipes as they go into the can. Often ends up getting lost and the aftermarket cans don't always need them. If they do, they should come with one.

Most aftermarket end cans and their link pipes are so tight fitting they don't need gaskets, it will be obvious when you come to fit it!
