Title: R1 gear linkage mod ?

Anyone know if this looks like an r1 gear linkage arm ?
Has anyone on the forum done this mod to a fazer ???

It could be but if it is, I believe it's from an original '98 model 4XV.  If that's right, I don't think it will fit the Fazer in the way you might be hoping.

Best option for this mod is a 99 - 00 5JJ model R1 arm but later ones can also be used if you reverse the position of the rose joint.

I did the mod a few years ago. It basically shortens the travel of the gear lever. It makes it slightly stiffer to change gear because the travel is reduced, but it's a worthwhile mod in my opinion. :)  Ps.. make sure the linkage rod doesn't make contact through the frame. I had to file mine so it didn't touch when changing gear.
