Post by: Diablo on 29 January 2012, 03:34:59 pm
Hi guys, any1 know how to stop a crack from getting worse ive got a little tiny crack on my tail fairing and it might have grown. :eek
I was thinking of using glue to harden it and stop it in its tracks, if any1 knows of a better way please inform.
Thanx.

To stop it in its tracks drill a small hole right at the head of the crack. About 1/16 inch or 1.5mm dia should do. The idea is that it prevents the concentration of stresses at the head of the crack and stops it gradually progressing.  Still put some Araldite or other glue on the underside, unless you want to go the plastic welding route.
