Help needed..
My bike was running rough on idle, so I carried out a comp test and found no 1 down to 20psi,so i Had the head off my 600 1 st gen ,found exhaust valves had Burt out,I then fitted new valves and done valve clearances, valve timing etc now have good compression on all four .... But after refitting carbs they are now over fueling to an extent that it locked the engine up .....why??? ....never did this before ....have I done something ??

Could be something as simple as a float valve is stuck open in the carbs. Is it flooding on one cylinder or all of them? If it is the float valve you can either take the carbs out and reseat the valve or try taking the bowls off and reseat them without taking the carbs out.

When I had a flooding carb, the needle valve itself was sealing OK, but the 'O'-ring had failed so the fuel could pour in around the valve.
