What I'm wondering is whether I'd need to drop the yokes by a similar amount to keep the handling the same?

Don't think that'll work on yours mate - From what I remember the first Gen FZ6 had a direct shock from frame to swingarm, was only the second gen that had linkages?

Yes, this shortens the shock (it's not dog bones).
Why you wanting it anyway?
Because I've got short legs and the bike is too high even with a cut-down seat :(

Try raising the forks through the yolks first by 10mm. Be aware that dropping front and rear will reduce your cornering clearance.
Other option is to try lowering the seat by removing the foam and adding gel in its place.
Met a girl in southern France a few years ago with a foxeye fazer and that was what she told me she did.

I'm not into scraping knees, so I won't worry about that too much.
Although I'm just wondering if the forks have been raised through the yokes already as I recall trying to get it lowered a bit when I bought it (that was 7 years ago). As far as I can measure it, it appears to be about 740mm from the top of the yoke to the centre of the front wheel. Does anyone know if this is the standard measurement?

I've already had the seat cut down, but it's not enough :(

Hi mate the top of the fork leg should be flush with the top of the clamp with only the thickness of the screw in cap above the clamp Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean.
I've attached a pic of the top of the forks, there is a "step" at the top of the yokes, is this how they look as standard?

Sorry to bump this again, but I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm if this is how the top of the forks look on a stock bike before I start playing around with things...

Hopefully attached, are a couple of shots of mine at the moment. Not taken specifically to show the forks, but you can see fork tops and fronts in these shots. The bike is standard, as I had it from nearly new (ex-demo).

With the fork cap bolt off, the top of the fork leg tube (stanchion) should be flush the the top of the Yolk.
