Title: Original fork springs
Post by: adeejaysdelight on 28 September 2014, 05:38:56 pm
Does anyone have a picture of the original fork springs for the box eye 600 (2000 model)? I want to know if they are the same along the length or if the coils are more condensed to one end...

I have stripped mine twice now and changed the oil twice, so I know what I have. I just want to know if they are the original units or if they have been changed out at some point.

Thanks

I think original springs are progressive so should be coiled closer at one end.

kebab19 explains here, and just reading what he says also explains why 15w oil makes such a difference as the springs seemingly aren't heavy duty enough.

I used this when doing the forks on my YPVS, it does say that it dosnt matter which way the springs go in  ;) ;)
