Title: Seriously considering selling the fazer
Post by: Slaninar on 26 August 2014, 06:55:35 am
With pay cuts, crisis, newborn baby and insurance going 50% up!?!?!?! this year (for all the Serbian vehicles), I'm considering selling the old FZS600 and geting a small, 250 cc japanese bike. Still not sure which, but the old fazer is out for sale now.

Does anyone know if Givi top box rack can be reused on other motorcycles with minor modifications?

Are we talking Serbian registered vehicle? if so how's this for a ridiculous notion. Try selling the Serbian vehicle and buy a British registered one and  hey keep the fazer ;)

They decided to put all the insurance up by 45%.   They also cut the pays down some 10% - expecting to get worse. I got a baby recently and my expenses got higher even without those new measures to worry about. I'm still not 100% sure on selling. Put it on ads, but at slightly higher price than average (asking 2300, would settle for slightly less - mint condition with all the service done). They regularly go for around 2000, 1800.  If no one offers, I'll just ride it untill next summer, when it's up for new registration.

Is the insurance controlled by the state instead of private companies?

Congratulations for the baby anyway :)

The state dictates the minimal cost of insurance. Average pay here is 45,000 dinars, while insurance for FZS with minimal expenses (no accidents etc) is around half that amount. Living costs have also doubled in the past 5 years, costs of electricity, heating, taxes etc. While pays have remained almost the same (mine has dropped compared to euro).

Looking at 250 cc bikes - kawasaki ZZR probably.
