Had that surface splitting on my rear contimotion last year. It looked quite nasty, but was only a mil or two deep.

I've got contis on my tiger (ok, not one of the affected tyres), and will happily buy them again.

Any manufacturer will have production problems (whether it's tyres, calculators or butt plugs that they make). It's how they handle the problem, that's important - in this case Conti have stepped forward, held their hands up, and are taking (urgent) steps to rectify. Good on them, I say.

Your comparisons for if stuff goes wrong makes no sense because if my tyres fail then I end up in casualty with a sore arse but if my but plug fails then --------------------- er hold on, wait !
