That bike looks good but if you can wait there are loads of fantastic better bikes on the for sale section. The only real problem being travelling to see them. Like Brooker81 says, most of these have had the best mods done to them. I think you've done the right thing about coming on here and posting the link for advice. Don't be put off by mileage though as 44K is nothing providing its been serviced and there is proof of servicing like receipts.
Good luck in your search.

I found the right bike waited and had to travel 300 mile round trip its worth it for the right bike mate i tell ya.
-
If i did,nt have to use the bike as a daily mode of transport waiting would not be a problem but because i do i have to sell mine then get another bike within a day or 2 not a perfect way of having to do thinks but my only option.
-
Nice yellow bike although im pretty sure that aint no akra exhaust. does he have any proof of exhaust and jet kit being fitted.
-
Brooker is right....not an Akra....how do i know.....coz i got fleeced with mine that just had a sticker.....Akra only have titanium hangers...not stainless steel......pointed out to me by another foccer.
-
My Akrapovic had a Carbon hanger. I wouldn't base my whole buying procedure on whether the strap was the correct strap to a type of can, especially when the can is as messed about as this one seems to be. Do Akrapovic make stubbies? if not then the make is irrelevant. You might as well use any can if you're going to modify it from original. Which the maker of this can might have done.
Like has previously been said id want proof of Ivanising and authenticity of products.
Anyone want to buy my Ivanising receipt, going cheap £150

Not overly bothered about the exhaust and Ivanising that can all be done later, looking at other prices around here would still pay more for a bog standard bike looking on e Bay Taking a bike mechanic round tonight to have a look at it.

That's a fair point, just as long as you don't pay more for the extras. Like you say, they can be added if that's what you want.

Well took my mate down to check it out and he admitted if he had the cash he would buy it,so can,t be that bad lol.

I agree with the other guys about the can. It looks like a danmoto or similar (cheap). Very loud and doesn't do anything for performance. I'm not too keen on bikes that have been repainted. Usually because paintwork was damaged/crash damage. £2200 is too much for a bike repainted with no service history/proof of mileage. For £2200 you will get one with fsh probably standard for less.. here is one on ebay for the kind of money you should pay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321460942746?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321460942746?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT)

Hi pal yea i looked at this and can,t see the guy dropping so much to meet my requirements,i appreciate all your doing for me. ;)

The yellow bike with Danmoto can and Akra sticker looks like the one my friend had in my garage here in Spain a few years ago.
The paint job is a Dream Machine one done on a handful of 2001 Fazers in order to shift them from the showrooms. The original Fazer prices were too high, only a few hundred short of an R1 new.
The bike had been crashed at some stage before he got it. There was a small dent in the tank where the bars hit it and damage to the fairing, hidden by non-standard Fazer stickers which look like those on the ad photos. See the small Yamaha tuning fork sticker in the middle of the tank? That's where the dent is! I have photos that show the rear mudguard cut down exactly the same as the ad, so I'm pretty sure it's the same bike.
Most telling - and not something that most would notice - is the front left engine mount was mis-aligned in the rubber mounting in the frame cradle. It didn't seem to affect the way the bike rode but look closely at the motor from the front and you'll see what I mean. The crankcase casting is fine, it's the part of the frame with the rubber bush in it that's twisted slightly.
The bike was Full Monty'ed by me and I also fitted the Pazzo levers for him.
My advice is to consider it but don't pay more than £1800 for this one. Point out that you know some of its history, particularly the crash-damaged frame, and use that to haggle hard. ;)

It can't harm phoning the guy and offering £2200 cash for quick sale. Simply tell him it's the most you can spend. ;)
