First post on the new forum - surprised at the slowness of this site! :eek
Anyway back to the topic - I have a pair of customised ear plugs that I have had for about five years but I guess
as my ears grow they have become un-effective, so I resorted to some wax earplugs I got in France - good but a bit
fiddly and messy.
So I looked in Boots and found some silicone ones for about £3 - not fantastic value for money (you only get three pairs),
but they are reusable and washable.
They are without a doubt the best I have found for blocking out excess noise - even better than the £50 custom plugs!
So if you care about your hearing then give them a go...
-
Brand/name etc.. might help... :)
Cheers

I use them for swimming - haven't tried them on the bike

Given it's taken you 4 months to register I don't think you should comment on speed :pokefun
Fazerjon, you need to give them 2 or 3 rides before you start to get used to them.

Yeah maybe I should give them a chance, I do a lot of motorway riding and the wind noise is quite loud, but its just something I've got used to. What? Aye? What? :lol

Poundland sell 4 pairs of foam earplugs for ...... wait for it ........ a POUND!
They are the same as the ones in other shops for 3X the price.
They are as good as the ones McClaren give away on race-days.

I find the foam ones fiddly to roll up and insert, the triple-flange type that E-A-R make seem easier and last longer. Just looked for a link and they appear now to be available only in the cord-linked version... though I suppose there's nothing to stop you cutting the cord off.
