You cannot buy leads on their own, you will need to buy the coil and leads as one item.
-
Bloody hell wonder if I can find some breaking one
-
does anyone know as your sat on the bike which number the far right coil is? 1-4 or 2-3.
-
What exactly is the problem???
As you sit on the bike 1 is on you left 4 on you right.
-
Number 4 has tore in half causing my dad to have a major lumpy ride home from glassen dock today
-
Could you use these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IGNITION-LEAD-REPAIR-CONNECTOR-JOINER-FOR-8MM-7MM-LEAD-HT-LEADS-X-1-CONNNECTOR-/111284150310?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item19e90d6026 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IGNITION-LEAD-REPAIR-CONNECTOR-JOINER-FOR-8MM-7MM-LEAD-HT-LEADS-X-1-CONNNECTOR-/111284150310?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item19e90d6026)

Exlain what you mean by tore in half. Has the plug lead come away from the plug cap?
-
The top part which goes over the spark plug has ripped managed to push back on a seemed to work ok for awhile but buy the time went 20miles or so bike was only running on 3 again. I think it's the rubber elbow bit not sure if it's all one piece or not and bike is at my dads so can't investigate further at the moment.there are a set for £40 on eBay and thinking it maybe the easiest replacement tbh

The plug cap is a separate part to the lead.
The cap screws on to the lead and they will come apart if pulled by the lead instead of the rubber on the plug cap.
Cut 5mm off the lead and push it into the cap and then twist the cap clockwise while pushing the lead in. It will eventually tighten a bit then push the cap back on the plug.
This picture is a full plug cap on its own. The rubbery part at the top is to seal against water ingress.

Check ebay or Fazerspares plenty secondhand ones around.
When looking check the 2001 R1 as it has the same plug caps.

this is what I did to mine, got rid of the coils with leads as mine had corroded internally on the plug cap

Hell's bells. I thought I had the most corroded Fazer cam box cover. I must try harder.

Hey Solo,
which model did you get the CoP coils from? Do they seal or did you have to modify?
I note that Multi-gauge Christian has a section on these on his website - something about there not being enough power to run wasted-spark ignition?
Can't believe the 2000-on R1 and the Fazer AREN'T coil-on-plug - my 1997 GSXR600 is.

The coils I have are off a Kawasaki and I have a set of honda CBR600 coils as well, the ohms are the same, as to wiring don't wire the logical way, the bike won't run, you have to wire in series, there is a few topics with wiring diagrams online, the yamaha coils have a boot to stop water getting into the plug holes big are not as common when buying a set of 4, and I don't know of the ohms are the same, you can also run suzuki coils as well.
