Title: Being a Plum - Looking For Previous Thread On Braided Hoses and Discount
Post by: Frosties on 04 July 2014, 04:48:25 pm
Hiya fellas,

Need to overhaul my brakes and was looking for a previous thread re braided front hoses and some discount we had with some supplier for the hoses.

I'm being a right plum and can't find it  :groan

Any help with a linky to it would be much appreciated

Cheers

its with HEL,think its 10%,just mention the forum to them. i only got the single rear brake line,he was a bit reluctant to give me the discount but gave in eventualy,so id get all 3 lines at the same time if i was you (id put goodridge on the front, only changed the rear cos i put on the thou rear caliper upgrade)

hope this helps,im sure someone PC clever will be along to put a link up for ya  :pc

ps,the topic your looking for is on page 12 in here. and its 25% off,not 10%

When I phoned up a few weeks ago, the guy said he would have to charge me more for ordering on the phone for some reason so said if I do it online myself and use the code FULLMETALJACKET or something at the checkout it reduces it all by 25%. It took me a few goes to correctly enter the full metal jacket thing but I think its no spaces and all capitals possibly?

Are the HEL or good ridge ones exactly the same length or a touch longer?
Fitted my renthals and as they're longer my standard hoses aren't quite long enough even with re routing

What website is this? And as mentioned before will they be a touch longer to account for slightly wider bars? If that makes sense.

Cheers

I fitted the 2 line kit and have renthal streetfigther bars (the widest renthals) and they work fine if you route them carefully.

Hiya fellas,

1 last piece of advice required.

Can't make my mind up on colour. The bike is silver so thoughts on either the clear (shows silver) or black hoses please.

Any pics with either colour fitted would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I'd go clear, to suit the fairings as everything else on the bike is generally black

Ooooh get you love with the colour styling Mr D'Artagnan (Laurence LLewellyn Bowen). Good shout on the sell on issue.

2 shouts on the clear - done deal. Cheers fellas.

Looking at these now. I do fancy a set. I'm confused though what's the difference between race and standard?

The race set up just has two pipes, each going direct to one of the front calipers from the reservoir, where they joint together with a longer than normal banjo bolt.

The standard has three pipes and utalizes the splitter on the forks as per original rubber ones

May buy these if the lines my friend has don't fit.

As it happens I'm sure my original setup has a longer than normal banjo bolt on one end, does this sounds likely? If not, will my local bike store likely have something for me, so I don't have to wait to get one off the internet?

The silver on my '03 is slightly bluish so I went for front and rear in transparent blue to match my blue CNC levers and the blue dot on the calipers.
