Well what do we know about the "standard shock" ?
Well we are told that it is crap,,well saw it wrote somewhere.
Her is the owners manual to setting it up.

rear shock1 |
 |
rear shock 2 |
But the fact is most of us have one in the rear of our Gen2s. So who has found the good points and the bad points in this shock.
Who has played around with one.
Mine has the spring wound up to the max,and i have set the damping as normal,, i will try to wind the spring back a few notches to soften it as i am 11 1/2 stone wet. :)

Played with mine (binned it)

Ok, i know you got loads of money !!! :lol :lol :lol :lol
I had a closer look at mine and it was set at its softest,,so have closed it up 5 notches,,,i must admit i have thought it bottomed out before now,,,it might just chuck me over the hedge now :lol

Tbh I find the rear shock fine ,take the time to set it up to suit your weight and riding style and it is well up to the job ,yes I admit its not an all singing all dancing £600 or so Ohlins and it does have its flaws but for every day road riding fast or slow itll do for me Id rather spend my money on fuel so I can enjoy riding her :)

It does & is so good I didn't bother getting the Penske serviced & refitted :)

Slim Willy, get your sag sorted before you do anything, it's the first thing required in sorting suspension out.
Then, and only then, start playing with your damping!
