Title: GEN 1 Fazer Indicators
Post by: Manners on 15 June 2014, 03:33:52 pm
Hi all,

I think the indicators on the Gen 1 are a little ugly, especially the front (too bulky)! Just my opinion but I love the bike in almost every other way, so thought I would try to get some smaller indicators, preferably clear.

I don't want to bugger around with resistors, etc - just a simple plug/play would do me great.

Has anyone done the same and if so can you recommend a set? I saw quite a few options on eBay but unsure about the Chinese ones.

Yes, I have the Dr-Bike mini oval indicators with the mini-spacers and I swapped the indicator relay for a digital one of ebay.

I got one from Oxford range. Just installed recently and can't fault them!

I recently replaced the orange OEM lenses with clear ones and am pleased with the results, I've yet to see any aftermarket indicators that don't look out of place on the bike but that's just my opinion.

I wouldn't worry about ordering Chinese kit, most of the branded stuff you will be looking at will be made in China and re-badged with a hefty mark-up.

:thumbup for change of the lens, though for myself I went for the smoked lens, which with black fairing made the indicators blend in, quick, inexpensive and not very noticable until in use,

There does seem to be good an bad chinese stuff. I just bought a cheap set to make do with untill my originals turn up, and they are crap. The bulb holders are hot-melt glued in at such a stupid angle that you have to use small pliers to get the bulbs in, yes, I have broken a few trying. The glue has gotten into the bulb holders and it stops the bulbs from going in, so you have to cut it out first. Spend a few quid more would be my advice.
