Title: FZ1 cat in downpipes
Post by: slappy on 05 June 2014, 08:08:46 pm
I have now put an aftermarket can on but have left the cat in the downpipes for now. Is there any advantage in removing it that is worthhile? Also do you get an increase in noise level if you remove the cat?

It will be slighly louder, as for performance improvement,,well its probably in the mind  :)

it seems none of us did a dyno before and after removal,,,but i am sure it can't help the bike having the exaust blocked up with that honeycomb mess.

I took mine out when I took the oe end can off just to save taking the new one off again.

Took mine out mate, but wouldn't have done it without fitting a pc3..as the guys said there's quite a bit of gear in there, gotta contribute to back pressure, stock fuelling would suffer I think without the power commander.
