Title: Looking for a photo, any help?
Post by: Super_Monkey on 30 May 2014, 09:32:19 pm
I'm thinking of taking the nose cone off of my gen 1 and would like to see a photo of one with the cone removed and possibly a belly pan fitted?

thanks in advance  :)

yeah now we're cooking on gas Keith!! What headlight is that, is it a GSR600?  How good is it when needed? Expensive? What about fitment etc, I see you have swapped forks over, have you also changed the clocks, any pics of mods being carried out?

cheers

sorry no pics of mods while doing them, its an fz6n headlight (75 from fleabay and thats with the surround) so need a better main bulb, real easy to fit with fork clamps and yes have kept the original clocks for now moved ignition to left fairing in fill bracket and re mounted clocks using the bolt thread (cable router) and rested it on the ignition mount wih a bracket from the riser bolts underneath, thats until can get a billet top yoke manufactured to my specs so can mount an acewell or koso (need to save money lol)

been looking on egay for a headlight and no chance finding one for the price you paid  :\  I had KOSO clocks on my 1400 when I custom'ed that - they worked well and looked trick, I don't have a close up but you can see them in this pic..

I think that is my favourite Fazer  :b

A tidy looking job, where everything just looks as though it should be there. For me, it really doesn't look so much older than the modern stuff, maybe that's just the headlight etc, dunno. But I think I would miss my fairing too much to do that to mine  :\

So, USD forks, presumably a rear shock upgrade, maybe forks dropped in yokes? Ivanised of course? How much better than that is a gen 2 with all the mods? Less weight is the starting point, I would guess, but for me, this looks better....maybe looks shouldn't play such a big factor in why I like certain bikes, but there you have it - it does  :D

End of Noggy-type broadcast.........

yes to all and the seat has been modded, rear sets on so its like a very comfy shit of a stick bike to ride I wouldnt swap it for a Gen2 even one thats been done so to speak
next jobs are like i said the clocks top yoke and downpipes so to get shot of exup (done in the right way) also while doing that will remove ais.
Will be a lot lot lighter and a full on hard on of a machine
