About a month ago we could hear this strange animal noise all night,,,sometimes, alot of times,,,we go used to it.
well it got worse and worse,,then we noticed a bee buzzing noise agianst out bedroom ceiling.
so , yes there is a Bumble bees nest up there,,we can spot them going in and out under the eves,,llittles tiny ones, cute really.
so we put up with it for a month,,now there are friggin huge bimble bees going in the eves,,and also lots of the tiny ones.
THe buzzing is very loud and annoying,
So i went up the loft with torch and tennis bat,,,looked around ,,nothing,,but i noticed the cieiling board are not plasterboard but a kind of soft fibre board.and if you touch it , it passed sound well.
It got worse , i git the step ladders and put my ear up to the cieling near the corner,,hell !!!!!!!!!! :eek ,,you could hear thousands of little buzzing bees. :'(
They are in and under the fibreglass insulation...
So i purchased some wasp killing powder and taped a pipe to it and went up there,,, :evil
Crept across the beams,,and half covering the torch beam,, i wiggled the pipe through the fibre glass, and puffed the powder into and under the insulation,,,well what a fucking noise,,,sounds like a million bastards,,,none showed above the insulation,,so i injected in two more places....and got the hell out of there.
in the bedroom, the noise of the buzzing was amazing..
two days later,,,still a bit of buzzing,,i am the thinking maybe they are dying,,i git the step ladders up agian,,slapped the ceiling, making the bees bounce,,,fuck,,they went mad again,,,still thousands there,,so tonight i have been up there again,,,puffing powder under the insulation,,,hell thenoise,,not one be came up through the insulation,,,they are in it,or under it..
we will wait and see ifthey slow down,,i am off to buy a different product..
I might set up the camera and just pull the insulation up,,lol,,,hell you will not believe the noise.
-
Yes yes set the cam up please. I need a good laugh as they get pissed off
-
Bee very careful beefore u do it beecause the cunts will have thee
-
i have not intention of being up there and move the fibreglass,,,,they went absolutley mad, berserk, the noise when i was squirting powder into the fibre glass....urrrrhhh

Step 2 contains particularly useful advice :lol

People are worrying about the lack of bees, can't you find a local beekeeper to take the swarm off your hands?

I knew he had it in him ;)

Is be inclined to call in the pro's
Calling prostitutes in at a sensitive time like this will only usually inflame matters within a household. :whip :lol
-
They are fuckin BUMBLE BEES not honey bees you cheese sucking mother :lol
This morning there is a big one,,buzzing slowly,,sounds awfully sad,,,,i will bang the cieling tonight to wake um,,if they are alive

Doesn't matter, ALL bees pollenate, which is the concern not honey production, you should try to save them.
-
You are not allowed to kill bees they are protected. If you call the pros they will take the queen and the rest go away. Find where they got in and seal it, everyone happy.
BTW they all die every winter cept the queen that why you only see little ones at first.
-
Leave them this year then find out how getting in seal up and your good bees don't return to same hive twice anyways
-
This is what happens when you have a bimble blue bike.....the bimble bees turn up........now your bike has a name.....Bimble Bee ;)
You'll be horse whispering next.
-
Round here Bee Keepers will remove em for free. So I'm told.
Yup protected species now.
I've had a wasps nest every year since, one year two of, I moved into this house (2010), fortunately spotted em early each time.
They keep going for the same spots, so I'm gonna treat the shed and the house vents every spring regardless each spring.
-
When did bees become protected??
-
Ring ring.... Is that the RSPCA.... I want to tell u bout a mass murderer.... Dont worry caller.... They will get their revenge...

Thats the best thing to do, this year we have a hive in the cavity wall at the front of our house and a local bee keeper advised this.
-
When did bees become protected??
Umm maybe not then.
Some very limited but apparently essential protection for the Honey Bee though courtesy of The Scottish Government.

I think there is general concern about Bee numbers though.
-
They aint honey bees, they are Bumble bees,,, bloody noisey ones,,,This old house has big biggaps all around the eves everywhere,, so absolutley NO chabce of sealing up an entry hole,,
wasps,, well i am an expert with them,,,have had to be pretty devious with them clever bastards,,they leave guards in the entrance, and chase you if you go within 10ft..i have been down a ladder at 20mph with them on my shirt,,c**nts
The bees are getting quieter now,,not sure if i will manage to kill them.i hope so.
Buzzzzzzz Buzzzzzzzzzz

The only real way of getting rid of bees is the old fashion way. You need to fill a small bowl (breakfast size) with a solution of warm water with sugar dissolved in it. This needs to be placed in direct sunlight early in the morning so the bees can smell it first thing. You will notice that to start with, only a few bees will feed from it, but within around 3-4 hours most of the nest (bumble bees dont swarm) will congregate around the bowl. You then need to resonate with the bees, this is a simple process, if you listen to the bees you will hear that they all hum in time. All you need to do is play music within a close proximity that matches the bees hum. It has been studied by experts and apparently the best song for this is "Day trip to Bangor" by Fiddlers Dram.
Once the bees start doing the waggle dance, they become hypnotised and completely under your control. You then need sing the song quite loudly while skipping around the garden in your underpants, the bees will follow you, buzzing along in time, and you can lead them away from your house to a place of your choosing.
Hope this helps!!! :)
-
Fucking brill man,, cant wait until tomorrow,,and i get clean pants on a Saturday :)

Who were those fuckers a few months back, wanted anything other than talk about bikes banned from the forum?
Twats, you'd have deprived us of that gem from doddsie (amongst many others), long may serious and contemplative discussion about random shit continue!
-
Reading through the posts seems to me you what you need is an appealing Queen to do a wiggle dance while drinking a sugary drink to lure them out
now who can we get....who can we get :lol
-
Do you think Richfzs could be a Queen :lol
some of his posts do seem on another level :b

Them there Bees are still a buzzing,,,,not flying in and out,,so they are very very unwell,,,maybe dying a slow death, i got a new bottle of powder to give um some more...
A mate last night tells me he has some hush hush stuff off a pest controller,,,,umm wonder if i can smoke it? :lol
-
Well, I surely wish my wings had worked last night :lol
-
Spooky, just had a swarm removed from my garden this morning, my neighbour has a couple of hives, and one of them decided my pear tree was better! Cheeky little critters.
Still, it was funny watching the spaceman in my garden elbow deep in the swarm trying to find the queen!
-
Still, it was funny watching the spaceman in my garden elbow deep in the swarm trying to find the queen
Yea I,ve seen that on redtube :rollin
-
They are STILL ALIVE :'( buzzing in the ceiling,,,none, no none have been out today or yesterday,,,they are sat in the nest buzzing their wings on the eggs and grubs giving them fresh air,,,they buzz and buzz and buzz and buzz all the time,,,yes all the time,,
Right ,,last chance ,tomorrow evening i got a whole bottle of powder,,they are having the lot in one go :evil
-
There was a hive in my front garden when we moved into our house so I called the council. They told me to leave them alone and they would die in the autumn. They did as they were told but there's a big difference between the garden and the loft.i never have to mow the loft.
-
True, but you also don't have to live in your garden ;)
-
I am going back up the loft now,,they were keeping me and my Maud awake last night,,
the biggest problem is the queen bee,,they make a kind of QUACKING NOISE, all done i think with their wings,,by fack ,its annoying,
how the hell a dying bee can make that much noise beats me,,i must try to record it.
No bees have been out through the hole now for a week,,,how come they are still alive,,
any way,,i now go to risk my life again,,i will listen against the ceiling first to try tolocate the queen BITCH :lol
-
vehad some more powder in the nest diect,,,buuutttttt, they are very much still alive,,,tonight i will source some nasty stuff,,that will sort them :evil
-
Spray them with lacquer that will stop them beating their wings :lol
-
here is a rcording of the queen Quacking,,quite quiet tonight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pnD3DeUPag (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pnD3DeUPag)
And here is a recording from my bedroom of the bees after i have squeezed powder into their nest,,then i tap the ceiling
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0rUKaIVAgE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0rUKaIVAgE)
Bloody hell,,,they are gonna have it.
-
stop banging on the ceiling and they will be quieter :pokefun
-
Shit that aint a good noise.
Slim those bees are gonna foc you up....that noise is them gathering up all the powder......i can just see it on Beetube.......them pouring the powder on you & poking you with a big stick because your fazer is too noisy :D
-
That so looked like a teaser trailer for a B movie :rollin
-
Well they were quiet all night,,not one bloody buzz,,,,clever bastards, i know there game,,,,
strange though,,,,absoluley no noise=======buttttt today i pick up some "NASTY " powder :evil :evil :evil :evil :evil :evil :evil
It will even kill humans :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
-
It's a shame that you have to kill them as they have a big role in life. But i understand where you are coming from as that sort of sound will drive you nuts when you are trying to sleep. Please be careful in what you are using as you will need to clean up the remains once they are all gone. be careful of the powder getting into the air in your home as i don't think you will be to well breathing it in.
best of luck and i wish you and your wife a good night sleep.
-
Yes Martin, a bit of a worry,,it is at the far end of the loft, not very accessable,,,just dont take the ceiling down though,,i will when done cut the fibreglass and bg it,,,have a look for the queen too.
-
Hope you get it sorted bill. Einstein apparently said that once all the bees have gone, we are all gone four years later. I'm not sure if that was all bees or just honey bees, but I think all bees pollinate. And bee numbers are worryingly falling dramatically, they have no idea why. So, factor in another year for them all to be gone completely, that gives us five years. Best make the most of them bikes fellers..
-
Ten quid says you'll go up there full bee suit on and it'll be a nest of badgers watching tv with the sound up too loud :lol
-
He will be screwed then, are badgers protected? They can be nasty buggers when disturbed.
Its odd but the bees we have in our cavity wall, which we are going to leave alone till winter then I will try to block off the access holes hopefully, seem to be dying. We have found 4 dead bees on the ground below the hive.
-
Apparently its the Asian hornets (honda scum :b ) you should watching out for bill...they have a 6mm sting, are about 6cm long & are on the rise invading europe....government introducing a shoot on sight policy :2guns .......they hunt bees & each Hornet can eat about 50 bees every day......they already focced up 6 french folk.....forget baguettes...they are now pan bread thanks to these nasty buggers.
-
as long as it wasnt terminal !
they already focced up 6 french folk.....!!! I like then allready !
-
Noggy , i have read about them killer hornets invadeing Europe,,,hope they dont get over the channel :eek
and the bees were quiet again last night,,they may be DEAD..
we have at least two other bumble bees nests in the walls of this house that have not been affected :)
-
your story reminds me so much of this.....
Jasper Carrott - The Mole - Animated (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fePU5CIHpas#)
-
I can provide a harmonica though! :lol
-
No, that's all wrong.
Everyone knows that bees are calmed by smoke so, squirt a gallon of petrol into the nest and light it.
They will mostly all die a nice calm death and the fire will dispose of the nest.
Plus you get a sunshine roof in your house !!!
-
It's definitely badgers. They're well known for nesting in rooves
-
Badger,," all badgers around here are definately in danger,,,its the law of the countryside :lol
Now where is my wolfie ? :)
Actually you should hear my Bruce doggy when he catches a badger,,hell does he go mad,,,of course i have to run over to them but its usually all over by then,,,they seem to go their different ways ,lol...naughty wolfie
I dont know if Bruce is actually scared of them or what,, but he sure makes a noise :lol
