Christ, I'm turning into another Noggy!! :lol :lol
As you all know, Project Fazer needs a redesigned backside (when it comes to bikes, I'm an arse man. Because they look the tits. ;) ). So far, I've been look for the old R1 tail fairings, but not having much success. A few other designs that have caught my eye have been the R6, the Duc 916 and the Yam FZR400. All completely different, all could look really cool with the underseat zorsts.
Any other ideas? Any links to cheap bits for me? I don't really want to pay more than about £50 for the plastics.
Cheers!

Oh yeh....drag me into it will ya.
Shame on you!!!

After HOW MANY pages of "Recommend me a bike", to end up with another Fazer? :lol :lol
Come on, let's have some ideas!

We'll that rear end on Dekf 's s1000r looks pretty good, offer him a £100 I reckon he might part with it.
-
Ha
To be fair i was recommended a fazer & they weren't banned from being eligible either.
Sooooooooo........fz6 tail...then it is still fazer. 8)
-
Seriously, Dazza?
I was looking at the FZ6 tail, but I reckon something squarer would fit my bike better. Plus, mine's going to be a single seater, so I'd quite like the stepped sort of look you get on the super sportsters
Ducati 996 seat. Thoughts?

Probably the best rear tails possible to have with underseat exhausts really!
That said, you muck up an iconic tail by making a rat's ass out of the job and I WILL come up there :lol

Save time - come up, and help me get it right!! :rollin

please god not another bike with a 916 seat on it!!
-
what about an R7 seat?
-
TZR250 reverse cylinder?

TZR250 reverse cylinder?
Got one you can sell me?
Sorry, Northwestern, but the 916 fairings look good and are surprisingly cheap on ebay.
Got anything you can flog me? Has your bro got a spare YZF750 fairing he could part with?
-
He may have the standard one but don't think that would be easy to fit...

It's either a standard YZF 750, and an angle grinder, or I use the 916 fairing. ;)
-
Right, down to 2 now (kinda).
I can go for an R1 fairing (the 00/01 model), and then could go normal USS style (under the fairing), or CBR600RR style - so the brake, tail, etc lights are beneath the exhaust.
Or I go cliché, and go Ducati 916 - or even Cagiva Mito125, as they're similar - but I'm worried about the width issues.
Help?

I think there's a clue in the site header. We like Fazers ;)
-
Yeah, but I want to give mine a little twist, make it stand out. ;)
-
how about triumph daytona 675??
-
Ducati 999 tail ? - not the obvious Ducati choice, but might suit the Fazer lines better than the more rounded 916 unit.
-
Hmm, bit different...
The question is: do you have one? :lol Ebay is being a bastard for (lack of) parts, let alone sensible prices! I'll still looking, peeps! :)
I think I'll go 916, Geordi Sussex has it on his bike, and it's beaut.

Also, the 600 has a "stepped" subframe - perfect IMO for the underseat exhaust and the 916's stepped tail. I could mod an FZR fairing, I suppose, but again, can't find one.

I reckon an FZS 600 tail would look pretty good on the back of your Fazer. #justsaying ;)
-
Yeah, but that ain't custom or bling!
Hoping to make a deal on a Ducati 996 fairing. :)
-
I think Harry could be onto something.... It won't be back on the road long before it has some custom scratches all over it knowing you Christo :lol
-
Won't be back on the road at all if my parents have anything to do with it.
Gis a break, man.
-
TZR250 reverse cylinder?
I had one of them and the japanese market V twin
-
Panigale.
Although that rear end would cost you more than a new fazer!
-
since this a long term project, why dont you just buy a load of fibreglass matting etc and heavily modify the OEM tail unit into something entirely new and one-off? just an idea which may be cheaper than sourcing an alternative and modifying things to suit (although, much more time consuming).

Because that will take too long!
I want to have the bike ready to ride at Uni in September. I need a fairing on before I can fit the exhausts, and I want to get swingarm and zorsts booked in in the next fortnight.

Scanning through ebay...
Thoughts on an RGV 250 VJ22 tail?
