In the season of squashed flies, what are we all using to move the buggers off our visors....especially whilst out and about?
-
I always carry a damp piece of kitchen roll, in a doggy poo sack.... Works for me
-
I use the V2 Sponge from Visor Vision, best thing I have used for cleaning my visor in 36 years of bike riding.

Damp kitchen roll for me, open it out and let it rest on the visor for about 10 mins. quick rub and all the flies disappear.
-
I usually don't need to wipe while out but I use wet tissue, kitchen roll is best because it doesn't fall apart easily :)
Sometimes use a baby wipe though if I have some really determined flies.
-
I just use cheap screen wipes (keep a pack under the seat). Ive never had any problems with hazing or yellowing on plastic visors either. Something like this:

The hand wipes they give you at KFC. I always keep a couple of them in my jacket pocket.
-
plus one for the v2 sponge, its the dogs nuts.
-
Steel wool
-
Acid :lol
-
ALWAYS POLISH MY HELMET WITH A BARE HAND AND LOTS BABY OIL :b :b :b :b but obviously in the middle of a ride out wet loo roll from a cafe truck stop maccy dees etc then polish when get home ;) ;) actually use furniture polish as it leaves a film that helps run the water straight off when raining
-
I'm so slow they are only on the back of my helmet, but if a friend is using mine he uses baby wipes to ;)
+1 for furniture polish.
-
never mind the visor...........
riding with the visor up, I've had some whoppers hit me in the chops and if I wasn't wearing shades the buggers would've taken me eyes out if they'd have hit me in the eye
visor down in hot weather aint good but sometimes necessary :'(

Nothing beats the feeling of an insects final death throws in your eyeball!

Another user of the mighty v wipe
But i always forget to clean it out and it stinks.
A packet of baby wipes in my tank bag is ideal, cheap as chips, always fresh, can be used to clean hands and face after a long ride or a greasy snack on the road....plus you can use them on the visor.

I feel a very nasty accident is going to happen here.
But i always forget to clean it out and it stinks.
Tis true that it is only bikers who know what dead flies smell like
-
I carry a small squirt bottle of visor cleaner and some tissues.
When I stop, a quick spray, wait for it to work for a minute or so, then wipe off. Job done.
-
Wet Jiffy cloth in a resealable bag, keeps wet all week, dry one wrapped around the outside, usually goes in t/bag side pocket or jacket pocket. Must've hit a bee today - splat! covered half the feckin visor, so the Jiffys came in handy.
-
+1 for KFC wipes, also have pocket size spay bottle of screen wash and pack tissues in my bag, but there always couple KFC wipes in jacket
-
Had to stop twice today because of exploding insects,,always have a piece of kitchen roll with soap on inside a fold of bakofoil..
when it is covered in dead fly guts,,it will stink like fook after a few days, so always bin it when i get home..
-
Piece of chamois leather in a resealable small butty bag in side pocket of tank bag. Put some water in before a ride (unless I forget!) and use the soggy chamois to remove the bug remains. Piece of soft dry cloth to finish off. When I get back give the chamois a wash and hang to dry (unless I forget and then, as said before, it gets a bit smelly).
-
I collect the out of date cleaning wipes from first aid kits, I also have a tub of bigger medical surface wipes I put in the top box if I'm camping/parking under trees.
-
Best visor wipe I ever had was a CCTV camera lens cloth I was given on a course with Sony
It had its own dedicated wallet and would stay moist and would remove bugs with a single wipe
I used and washed it to death over the last 10 years and have never seen anything similar since :(

+1 when out and about with a lint free cloth, but when arriving at home or work after the commute then just lay some damp kitchen roll over it for a while before wiping.
