Nah, if I was going to Kent or points south east I'd rather go via Scotland than use that nazi-regulated car park.

Gen is, the cameras are set to trigger at 60mph, and are set at the side of the gantries about 2ft above car height - 60mph?!! Are there any motorways here you can actually do 70 anymore? Or NSL roads where you can do 60? So much for arguments for raising the motorway limit!

The danger is for motorists using this stretch at 03.00 in the morning, relatively empty and easy to get caught out.

That is just great, now they will be able to catch all intoxicated drivers, careless drivers, reckless drivers, tailgaters and road rage incidents.  :photo Foc all to do with safety, they are just cash dispensers for the government. :stop

There are times when it would be insanity do drive at 60mph on a motorway. Still legal.

I'm in favour of variable speed limits, with a derestricted speed (like some of the Autobahn) when congestion is near nil, and lowers the speed to safer limits when traffic is heavy.

It's a good idea, but will never happen, as the government loses a nice source of income. :wall

60mph would be to catch trucks and caravaners who have a 60limit on the motorway

Think I got caught out last Tuesday, 5.30 in the morning, scamera just after clackets, there was a car just cruising past me at the time so I hope the flash was for him, I was doing 80mph, there we no speed restrictions in place at the time (other than the 70mph limit).
