Hi I'm new on here and on the fazer I have a 2001 600. The speedo needle is all over the place I've had some look at the front wheel to see if there's any signs of a broken ring but seems to be ok any ideas wot I do next???
-
What condition is the wiring in? Any chance there's a broken wire or dodgy connection?
-
I'm not trying to sound rude, but definitely speedo and not rev counter?
-
Dodgy earth buddy. Mine was doing it a few weeks ago. Was bouncing around like mad

Thanks when you say earth would that be on battery??

Lol defo speedo. I'm new to all this and not very hands on but want to try wots within my capability. If it's a dodgy wire are they easy to fit??

It's easy to fix a wire but you have to find where the problem is first which could be a pain. Think opening the loom and going through the earths. I'd say just live with it for now, see if it settles down. If it keeps going crazy then think about fixing it. If you're going to fix it you'd need a soldering iron, decent solder, heat shrink and loom wrap.

The reason i asked is 'cos the rev counter can go nuts if the TPS is faulty, i wasn't taking the piss, just didn't know your noobness. ;)

Lol wasn't offended cheers for the suggestion. Where's the earth for these sorry for sounding dumb lol

I had similar issue shortly after I got my fazer, turned out to be Speedo wire touching disc and earthing out, taped up and rerouted been fine ever since. Just a thought.
