Just thinking it was about this time last year so has a date been set for this year?
-
oh yes but thought it was may
-
28th april last year....will look around the shed this year :rolleyes
-
about time we sorted the date out if its going to happen.??
It always was april...moved to may last year, cant recall just why ??
. April was the first meet up, in memory of styx an original fazer thou owner sadly killed by a car driven recklessly.
-
Well, is it??
Where is our Mr Motivator when you need him, aka Purplebear aka Trevor :lol
-
How about Sunday 27th April for BRUM 2014 as a suggestion?
-
I'm up for this , not been yet .
-
Theres plenty of apathy about !
If its to be sunday 27th, lets start shouting about it ! :)
-
Sunday 27th April theres a Midland Air Ambulance run from Shrewsbury to RAF Cosford & all day event at the aircraft museum-suppose I could always pop over to Bickenhill later in the day to say hello to you all.

it will clash with the bimble march ride, why not do the bimble from the silver ball, and do the motor cycle museum in a few weeks?

Quote: Where is our Mr Motivator when you need him, aka Purplebear aka Trevor (http://foc-u.co.uk/Smileys/efocicon/lol.gif)
Here I am .. as always keeping my eye on 'the line' :rolleyes of things .. but not taking part in very much action these days.
I more or less lost all of last year completely .. only rode a couple of thousand miles. I had Six Operations on my Port Side Hip and the Top and Bottom of my Spine. Very long story short .. one guy made a right cock up of a repacemnt hip job and things went down hill bloody damn fast from there on in! Cost me my lifes savings :'( trying to get things back to something close .. but it failed to give me anything like what I needed. Now got an Full Monty Ivanised Wheel Chair, Two crutches and Piddle Bottle .. but not in that otder :eek !
We moved out of Denia (Costa Blanca Mainland Spain) to live in Mallorca in Jan this year .. I brought the 'Spanish Dancer' outfit with me .. but have not ridden it here yet. I'm sorry to say that 'motivation' has not been a much used word around here lately.
So .. Going Forward as they say .. The Fazer Group Annual meet at the National Motorcycle Musium .. or the 'Brum Bike Shed' as I named it. I started the gathering idea back in 2002 (I think it was) .. 11 of us turned up for that one and that included guys from all five corners of the UK. 8)
We all agreed that the idea was a success and we've carried on going forward with it every year sinse.
The location is ideal .. Bang on Central UK (fair for everyone) Easy to Find (Jnc 6 of M42 as for the NEC) Free Parking and Cafe.
Dates are nornmally 'considered' but you can never please everyone! This April you have all been asleep and there is only one Sunday left .. so the 27th it is then! Times .. guys start rolling up from about 1030 onwards .. departure times depend on individual distances to get home, etc, most individuals and groups are gone by 1600.
At about 1400 we have the Photo Shoot Line Up .. everyone on a Fazer should be there to take part by putting their bikes front wheel right ON (not just near to) the curved white line .. this makes an almost perfect setting for such a gathering .. be there .. and please do your bit!
The Bike Musium is a 'must do once' kind of thing in the lifetime of all proper bikers I guess .. but the entrance charge is a bit much for us OAPs these days.
All in .. a good Ride Out day there and back to kick start your season, chance to meet people and put faces to names.
One warning! Police Cameras!! This is a very 'hot security' area, the NEC, Brum Internatioal Airport and all the Motorways .. M42, M40, M5, M6, M1, M45 all within half a dozen gear changes!
You WILL all be on camera 24/7 from about twenty miles out .. ride legal and you'll be fine .. play like a prat and they will have you!
I'll hold fire there .. but if anyone has questions .. just shout. OK. (Line up photo below, best number ever in line 45)
One other note that maybe of slight interest to some?: My Biking Days are looking close to the last Pit Stop now .. so I recently offered to donate my outfit for the Bike Shed Collection. The Boss Man turned it down .. seems they only take British Bikes :\
Have a Nice Day Y'all .. send my the snaps :b Cheers. Stay Safe. Trev .. The Polar Bear .. Mallorca.
-
This might help the 'First Times'.
Here is a birds eye shot of the M42 Junction 6 area. The Brum Bike Shed is the 'Go Cart' looking twisty track, bottom Right corner, entrance is off the island.
Polar Bear ;)
-
Weather dependant for me , I will have to plan a route if the sun shines , don't fancy the M5 all the way .
-
I'm there as long as I don't need a boat :lol
-
I'm up for it !
-
I'm working that night but big probable to making it :)
-
I think this year I'm going to have to give it a miss. I've still far to much shite to sort out before (when it bloody happens) I move to Suffolk.
Nice straight line up now boys and girls. ;)
-
I think 27th is a bit soon maybe go for a late May date or even June?
-
yeh...agree with you there karlo and it clashes with tims, marchride`s,ride out....and the weathers not too good today......lets aim for end of may/june time....better weather and longer days :D
-
That sounds good to me got shit loads to do today :'(

There's a lot more that I designed on my back up drive that go back about 10 years.
The original meets were organised by R1SFR on this site: http://fazer1000.yuku.com/ (http://fazer1000.yuku.com/) in memory of a fallen rider (RIP).
It was advertised on here last year but I seem to remember someone getting in a strop because it was organised on the same day as another event.
-
I have also attended most of them , no excuse as I am only 20 mins down the road :eek
-
I have bad memories of getting up close and personal with Jase.

:\ So ... no reports, no pictures, no nothing. Are we to take it that the annual April Brum Bike Shed Meet failed to kick start the season this year?
Guess that's the end of that one then :\
Very Sad indeed in my oipinion .. but then .. as an American biker mate of mine often says ... 'What do I know .. I just work at the car wash' :\ .

Planning Trev.
From my point of view I've been so busy planning a move to suffolk, with all the other stuff that goes with it, that I've not been able to take it on board and organise a date with Paul.
Anyhow... what do you know? you're a retired deep sea diver :lol
-
With the 27th been sorted, or so I thought, I turned up at 12.30!! I guess I should have checked the forum before leaving (from the wirral)!!!
Can I suggest the end of June(29th)
Enjoyed the ride though and paid a visit to Cosford whilst I was out and about.
-
It had to happen....but May would be better as many will be going on summer hols as we get towards July. I am away on 29 june for example.
So what about it !
-
OK this doesn't seem very popular :eek but I'll suggest 22nd June which gives a few weeks to get the word around, thoughts peoples?
-
Date good for me!
-
I can make it then.
-
22nd June is good for me, I'm only up the road :lol

-

-
Ok fivers worth of fuel now been and fueled up mission aborted can't see much point now. Sorry Peeps :'(
-
Well seven of us turned up in the end. Decided to call it a day at lunchtime & went our separate ways. 2 x FZS 600, 1 x FZ6 & 4 x FZS 1000.
-
7 :rolleyes I'm really sorry guys but after spending 2 hours at side of the road in bike gear and the heat I wouldn't have been in time anyway. I see Dave made it blue fazer with bar end mirrors and polished gold wheels.
-
Yes Daves bike very tasty. I made a mistake there were three Fazer thous & a Triumph 1050-must be the heat!!! Sorry you couldnt make it but these things happen. Didnt catch the "young" ladys name riding the blue FZs 600(lowered). Nice to meet fazer390 and UK Diceman and a local guy from Solihull who popped in before work. Very hot/close riding conditions in city today-brings out the worst in cagers behaviour!
-
Sorry i didn't make it but nice to see the tradition upheld. Top foccers.

Good to meet you all today, nice day for it, and Dave the young lady's name was Kim.
Hope everyone made it home safely.
-
Good to meet all those who turned up... I was quite disapointed however with the lack of numbers compared with last year and I've been looking forward to this event for months... :\
Looks like I won this years Mars bar though; living the furthest away lol...
I did have a cracking ride there & back through the Cotswold and up the Fosse Way. No Mototways...
Great to meet some new faces and old (Naked Adder ;-)) Hope to bump into you guys again; Borton on the Water was mentioned as an idea...
I was quite impressed with the 2 gen1 thous there, apart from mine; 2001(First year released) & 2006(Final year released), both had the same owner from new. Both great examples... 8)
Hope this isn't the begining of the end of the Brum?
