Title: anyone d'aaaaaannn saath (interpret - anyone down south)!!
Post by: ajmes1 on 12 March 2014, 08:23:22 pm
Has anyone down south (mainly kent area) had much experience with paint mixes from auto paint pro?

I need some for re-spraying and they seem reasonably priced compared to RS paints (who I have used before and the colour was COMPLETELY wrong!!!)

Many thanks!!

thats brill, enough solvent based paint of the 'reddish yellow cocktail' for a 2002 foxeye to do the front fairing.

Is the metallic base coat just a standard silver effect?

Is that the very early red, almost a burgundy?

I wondered if it was red but I believe it's the yellow fox eye, unless you know different?

That was the colour name given on rs bikes website when you enter the year/model etc.

Edit: colorite show a yellow swatch against the colour too. http://www.colorrite.com/product/yamaha-0251-reddish-yellow-cocktail-1-ryc1-1845.cfm (http://www.colorrite.com/product/yamaha-0251-reddish-yellow-cocktail-1-ryc1-1845.cfm)

Also I'm up in n.yorks so is delivery an option? For carriage of course!

TBH I used RS a couple of times and found their paint to be poor in quality and match, As far as I know the metallic is not a base its actually a part of the paint. I will check my mates colour chips tomorrow. The only time the metallic is a silver base is when you are using a candy (transparent ink) colour and in which case I wouldnt even advise doing it yourself, but the yellow isn't a candy.

That's brill, thanks for the advice deefer.

It'd be great if  you could help out, I have next to no experience with shoPping for paint, although it won't be me spraying it.

I think they quoted about £30+ £8 p+p for 100ml of base and colour coat.
