Title: clocks go forward Bourton run
Post by: devilsyam on 06 March 2014, 05:33:12 pm
Usually on or around this time we do the first Bourton run
And as this was one drillers favorite haunts thought I'd get the ball rolling
So guess first Sunday after clocks change

Any comments welcome

As long as its not insanely early I don't mind - took me just under and hour to get from my front door to Stow-on-the-Wold which is just north of Bourton-on-the-Water (what's with all the hyphenated names around this area ?!)

Is it just a ride-to and meet, then go home, or is anyone planning a route from Bourton?

Its a meet so the ride is to there and back groups from near areas organise to ride there in their local groups.

Depending on what happens, I was going to potentially do a run up Fish Hill as its only a 30 mile round trip from BotW :)

If anybody's interested in a little ride from Bourton, this takes in a nice bit of variation (the bit from Broadway (Fish Hill) to Bourton I don't know, but completes the loop).

The total get together is always at-
GL54 2AN  is the post code but the meeting is at the chip shop & Cafe on the High Street, at the junction with Rectory Lane. Meeting time there is for about Midday.

I left just before your PM Neil, sorry mate. We thought you'd be coming via all the cafes, so assumed you'd get to Bourton about midnight  :lol
Home again with a cuppa, only 20 mins or so for me. Nice to meet everyone again, as always. Sausage and chips were nice  :D
Windy on the A429, exposed up on there, but no significant rain.
Parted with red98 on A40 about 3pm. Hope everyone gets home safe.

Back home and warming up with some coffee. Definitely a lot more wind on the way back so was taking it pretty steady - sorry if I was holding you up esetest!

Unfortunately, we got somewhat soaked about 10-15 miles out of Bristol where it just got worse the closer we got. Ah well, hopefully it will have washed off most of the dirt from the journey up :P

Back home , good to put more names  to faces , ride up was better than ride home due to the strong crosswinds and rain so took it nice and steady .

Me home now.  good ride around Actually rather pleasant weather rained a bit around 4pm but not enough to do my hair.   then about 7-30 8ish entering London it rained a bit harder but then nowt to cause discomfort.
Returned home about 10pm nice and dry.

P.S Didn't stop at any cafes Apart from a petrol station where I suffered a sausage roll. ;)
