Title: Fazer 600 running help
Post by: Ashy401 on 17 February 2014, 01:17:09 pm
Hi my fazer has been stored for the last 8 months. Got it out replaced the battery bike started with choke on spluttered abit. When I take choke off engine dies. With choke on when I rev it it cuts out straight away sometimes it revs up then cuts out don't know we're to start.
Any help appreciated

Sounds like it's not getting enough fuel. Probably needs a carb clean but you could try a few easy things first like the fuel filter, air filter, drain the carbs, put some fresh petrol in, clean the spark plugs. You might get lucky

Have you tried the idle screw?

I put v power fuel in other day. I have had the carbs off today for cleaning put them bk on tomorrow. Took the air filter out looked ok. What resistances should I get when I check the coils it seems as if it's got a weak spark and flooding on loads.  What should the mixture screw be set to.
