Title: Gen 1 Cowling Graphics - Why so expensive
Post by: Jdalt on 17 February 2014, 04:05:56 am
After my Fazer falling over and cracking the fairing I have been looking into getting it replaced.

The Cowling is approx £210 but the graphics to go on to it are about £90

Am i looking at the wrong thing or are they really that expensive.

I got some for my boxeye off fleabay for about a tenner, but I didn't spray over them, just stuck them on when my paint had dried. They lasted beyond when I sold the bike a year later.

Do you mean the decal that is about 250mm long? Large 'Fazer' lettering with '100 exup' underneath in small lettering?
I got mine just over a year ago from CMC in Nottingham, cost abou £30 I think. I was also told these were never laquered over from new.

if yours is a yellow and black one (two tone) I think you will find the bottom half of your fairing is all sticker, not just the word Fazer.

It is on my USA import. And yes Mike any excuse to get a photo in  :lol

It is the Yellow one and the decals I need are the ones at the front with Fazer in white.

I have now found out that the price is plus vat so £113..................At that price I might just leave them off.

I say go cheap off ebay.

I got some off ebay for my 600 for dirt cheap and they do the job.I mean really all stickers are cheapo trash just by virtue of them being stickers....or decals whether yamaha supplied or not.

It's not as if the originals have a yamaha trademark on them or anything to confirm that they are originals so who will know any better?

Fuck. I threw 2 brand new ones away about six months ago was sick of seeing them in the cupboard.
Bought off e bay just in case I crashed it. think I paid a tenner each for them.
I know this don't help sorry

Try your local sign writers, most now do "stickers", just find the ones you want online, had a load of alpinestars made up for my sons van, cheap as chips.
