Title: Alternator.
Post by: PeeGee on 16 February 2014, 06:08:14 pm
I have heated grips, and HID lights, the correct unit, not just bulbs ( which I find are great), but, I would also like to fit some heated insoles to my boots, but will the standard alternator be able to manage. My pride and joy is a 2001 FZS 600.

HID's should have less pull than standard bulbs, if you're going up and down a dual carriageway /motorway on your journey you should be fine, if only riding through town then it maybe an issue!

That's great news thanks, I only put the heated grips on to take the chill off, they are not on full blast all the time, and I use the bike more out of town on A roads for a run of about 25 miles to work.

Heated insoles?
How does that work then with the wiring?

The heated insoles fit into your boots, the wires go inside of trousers, here there is a male -female plug so that you can disconnect, from there it wires into the battery.
Re the saddle, it came with the bike so I have no idea how much but yes it is really comfortable.
