Hi,
Trying to remove the Front Sprockey cover on FZS600 '03 - is it just a matter of undoing the 5 holding bolts?
I've already removed the left hand footrest and linkage. 5 bolts are "out" but cover doesn't want to "shift".
don't want to use anymore force in case I break it (im good at breaking things)

You have taken the gear selector lever off the shaft haven't you?

ive taken the left footrest off, complete with the joining bar to the "cogged" wheel on the outside of the casing. the cog is still in place on the bike

You don't need to take the footrest off, just the gear selector. Give the cover a little tap tap with a rubber mallet.
NOTE -a little tap tap, not a big bang bang.
That should be enough to free it. And put a little copper slip on there when you re-fit it. :thumbup

+1 for rubber mallet

Don't forget to get cross and skin your knuckles :lol

Pull the clutch lever. It levers off the cover. Remember this for when you are riding along and the clutch starts to fail soon after replacing the blots with stainless ones ;)

got it off - cleaned it up and put it all back together all on my ownio.
Fecking chuffed with meself........until I remembered the reason for taking it off was to check the bolt.
