Title: bellypan Fitting
Post by: Drax on 13 February 2014, 09:36:13 pm
I've managed to aquire a used official Yamaha Gen2 Belly pan.  :)

However, there are no bolts with it & the guy who I bought it from said it utilises the 4 bolts on the bottom of the engine.(sump?)

Is this right or is there an official fitting kit & if so any ideas where I get it from?

Thanks for any help.

I had just written a load of text about the fitment of a Gen 1 bellypan and then realised you wanted info about a Gen 2. Doh

Sorry I'm not sure but someone will be along in a minute to point you in the right direction.

If IRC there is a little bracket each side toward the rear of the belly pan as well as the straight through fixings.

As I woke up an idiot - what does IRC mean?  :o

I had a look in the garage yesterday as I have a damaged belly pan taken off the bike I wrote off.
No fittings I'm afraid, my lad took all the bits off the bike as I was laid up and couldn't walk, he obviously left the brackets on the bike.

Found out that I'm a twat as I had the necessary fitting brackets all along - it's just that they were already fixed inside the belly pan.  :o

The only reason that I know this is because I searched the interweb & found that someone on sportbikes.net had posted a fitting with pictures. (I would have shared the link but they are tricky & won't let me copy/paste the link)

Thanks everyone for your replies. :thumbup

Just bought some R&G bar end protectors.

Anyone know where they go? :b
