Title: Oil Filter
Post by: Andy Clap on 06 February 2014, 05:37:40 pm
I need an oil filter (my Champion one developed a pinhole leak after 6 months!)

I was looking at this, and although the part number appears to be FZS600 (5GH-13440-00) it looks a lot bigger that filters I've used before.

Any thoughts?

I would get a k&n mate, it has a lower profile which makes getting it in easier and also has a build in nut on the end to aid fitting

Yes, that's the wrong filter.
As you spotted, it's taller than the 5DM version so you won't be able to fit it without taking the downpipes off.

I think that nut on the end of K&Ns has got to be the simplest but most productive design feature ever. I mean think about it - it's bleeding obvious. So why is this such a rarity?!

That nut is an absolute God send.
