Never clean a bike. Ever. I bought a filthy Bandit, cleaned so much crud off it it turned out to be a GS125. true story.  ;)

It's the thick film of crud on mine that is preventing new dirt getting to the paint and ruining it!

That's my theory too Stevie. I just keep topping up the dirt with another layer of WD40.

Don't get me wrong.  I'll clean it 2 or 3 times a year.  Whether it needs it or not.
