If you still have the original mirrors on the easiest way would be to fit the later mirrors as used on the fox eye model. i.e. 2002-2003. They have a longer stem. Made a big difference for me.

I'm thinking of putting a set of bar end mirrors on mine, might be an option for you

Here, someone ought to put this on a sticky, or something:

Louis always has these cheap, aftermarket FZS2002+ mirrors. They fit bolt on and are nicely some 5 cm wider - just perfect. Nice for filtering, but you can see past your shoulders.

Yes. I seem to remember (but could be wrong!) that the 6mm mounting studs are slightly longer on the 02-03 mirrors. If they are longer it's not enough to cause the domed nuts from the 88-01 model to bottom out.

You're welcome. They fit on square eyes no problem. A bit longer nuts, but who cares?
So far they've put some 20,000 km in 180+ km/h speeds, bumpy roads, hot, cold - no problem. They are still standing like I put them. Decent quality IMO. At that price - it's a no brainer.

i have the same problem seeing my elbows in the original mirrors. but does putting the wider mirrors on make filtering trickier? easy filtering is probably the best thing about the fazer. i wouldn't want to lose that

Compared to my Suzuki GN125, these are still ultra narrow. Those additional 5 cm to each side are higher than most car mirrors, so no problems there. They are plastic, won't scratch car paint even if you do touch anything. In my case mirrors are practically not wider than my rear topcase, so another warning - mirrors don't pas, I don't pass.   :eek

These spill check is rally good!    :)

Got a secondhand set of aftermarket mirrors for my 99 fzs off the bay recently, don't know the brand, they are alloy castings adjustable for extension and feature cute diamond shape mirrors
though really only the far corner  is useful when sat up. the extension really needs to be a bit more but  they are all round tastier than stock mirrors.  :thumbup
