I painted my headers last year with Hycote VHT but the finish was matt black which looked more like a dark grey, I have also tried Halfords brand with the same outcome..
What are you guys using?
Has anyone used Granville satin black cylinder paint on headers before?
I am after a satin black that can take the heat and doesn't turn grey!!

I've used Granville satin black on a 350 two stroke good paint but it may not keep it's original colour for long after serious heat, keep painting them with a brush but in the end you may be happier when they've rusted through to get a nice set of Motad stainless ones & no more painting. :)

I have seen some guys on LC forums using this(Plasti-Kote BBQ paint) on the exhausts, ive never used it but they did get fantastic results, on my DT50MX, I used hycote engine enamel(gloss) and that stayed on for a year with the boy riding all year round, still looks good now.

Always used granville with a brush and you never see the brush marks and it only fully "cures " after a run gets some heat in its called engine black

Good shout Fazersharp, forgot I have used this on a ZZR600 and ZXR400 works very well.

I also used granville with a brush and was happy with the results. Once cured under heat it was a matt black finish which matched original reasonably well. Stuck fine and prevented further areas from rusting, although unfortunately too late to save already rusted areas and have a hole as of last week. Motad pipes on their way. But yes, granville recommended.

HA,
I was about to ask this question.
Did mine last January with a spray and its all come off, so this is what i shall try next, brushing is always thicker as well.

Nice job. They'll look even better as the paint wears. Are they brass exhaust nuts? Could you stick up a link for them?
