Parked up to find this bike has been ticketed, free parking bay (Camden) but as he has parked slightly on the yellow line he got a ticket, painful!

Harsh but the norm unfortunately. Btw lovin those bingo wings
-
That's foccing ludicrous - I'd be appealing that immediately.... Well not quite immediately, I'd have to come down from the ceiling first....
-
The only time I ever parked a bike in London, somewhere near Shaftesbury Ave., another guy just parking up warned me to make sure I wasn't even touching the yellow - some of Hitler's SS are alive and well and working in London.... :grumble
-
A real traffic warden who works for the police only issues tickets as a last resort and has actually failed in their primary task which is to keep traffic moving if they do. As such, they don't like issuing tickets as it's an admission of failure.
Parking Wardens that work for the councils however are a bunch of wankers who should be shot.
-
Whilst common sense would say he's parked ok, the bike is actually outside the bay's white line and sitting on a yellow :(
-
The thing is the council removed 2 motorbike bays around the corner due to building works that are going on, thus reducing parking spaces by about 15, this guys obviously parked with the common sense to give others as much space as possible, I'd happily take it to the adjudicators even though by the letter of the law its wrong, and I'd be getting in touch with MCN (this time of year they got hardly any stories in there so this would help fill it out!
-
Traffic wardens get a bad press I think. I'm actually grateful for them.....I mean, I didn't even know I had Tourette's until I came across one a few years ago.
-
:D :lol
-
:rollin
-
The poor chap cant get it within the lines because theres a bike with some masive planks on the sides
-
I mean, jeez, you could understand it if the bike was causing some sort of obstruction or safety issue by being outside of the box, but ffs, don't these people have any common sense?! They, more than anyone except bike riders themselves, must realise how limited bike parking is in London. So much for promoting anti-traffic congestion policies.
-

and remnants of Bet lynches bed clothes on the seat and mudguard........who could blame anyone for taking a wide berth..
I reckon filling out a complaint form would get him off anyway
-

Obviously not, bearing in mind what Punkstig said about a m/c parking closure around the corner, the warden must be a complete heartless bastard of a retard with no active brain cells.
-
And targets / performance bonuses to meet...
-
The road marking says "solo motorcycles" ----how do they know when a bike is parked if it had a pillion on when you parked.

Maybe that's why he got a ticket :lol
-
Who's to say that the retard with the decked out Fazer didn't move his bike a bit so he could get his fat arse on his bike?
After all, the rear tyre looks inside the yellows!
-
Apologies if any of the comments are sarcasm and I couldn't tell, however...
Mr. Punkstig said in his original post that he parked up to find the bike like this. That means that the ticketed bike was parked that way before he arrived and was not the cause ;)

But can you hold off half hour til I've had me dinner? :lol

You've actually hit on a good point there, as anyone could of moved the bike over. I for one would contest this ticket saying that the bike was within the bay when I left it.
-
I wasnt trying to be funny with the pillion thing, what does it mean
-
"Solo" As opposed to Motorbike and side car, I presume.
-
For FOC sake, talk about retards :groan
-
My arse definitely ain't fat, and I may be stupid but I'm no retard thank you!

Are you a traffic warden (womble)? :eek
-
Erm, yes, yes I am, and that would make perfect sense for starting this post!
-
Why is the yellow line even there anyway. If the bike was 4 inches to the left it would be legally parked, but still obstructing the pavements kerb for any reasonable use.

I knew it, :eek first you try to camouflage your bike :lol and then move the guys bike, give him a ticket and then come on here telling all the foccers how terrible its. :'(

Clearly the yellow line was there before the bike bay and having both there gives the the idiot warden who is in training to become a P.M under a coalition government the option to change his/her mind

Camden is the worst for bikes. Pay and display everywhere else is free, in Camden you have to put a ticket on (where?!) hate them.
-
Have to say the gen1 is coming down in the world when it gets modded like that !...FFS its not a C-90 :lol
I did wonder if it was devilsyams work at first ! ;)

You take off your fairing and remove the clocks and take apart and insert the ticket behind the clocks glass then put back.
No, though----------- what do you do - whats to stop someone taking off, is it also waterproof or somthing, could it blow off even.

He'd be furious if he saw that - he hates 600s, and that's what Stiggy has!

Erm, no, Camden is still free for bikes, although they've been looking at changing that for a while now,
Westminster is still the only council that charges for bikes!
And that's not a pay and display, register by phone only as they realise tickets would just get nicked, or claimed they were nicked!

I would challenge that unless my eyes are really bad that is not a continuous double yellow line and is not clearly marked
-
What has double yellow got to do with anything?
You may misunderstand yellow lines!
And it is very clearly marked

Is that the end of the yellow lines or has he been done for parking just outside the white lined area of the parking bay?
Here in Spain if you are even on the white line of the designated parking area, bang € 60.00 thank you, is it as harsh as that now in the UK.
-
The ticket would be charging him for being parked on a yellow line!
