				A sexy beast!

				Nice  :)

				Looking good!
How much of a ball-ache was the digi gear indicator?
It's something I'm definitely thinking about, sick of going for 7th gear!

Learn to count?  :lol :lol :lol
I did that on the Fazer as well. And on my 125. I guess it's a bike thing.  :D

			-
Must be! Always just wanna be going faster!

			-
nice looking bike in tasteful settings! Lake Vrynwy? -Horshoe Pass -Barmouth? Wales has some of the best roads for us Fazer types  :lol

You're still going for 7th, even with the gearing you're running?!

Sounds crazy right!? I just want MOOORE!!!  :evil
Straight after the change, it did feel like I'd been given an extra gear. It was great! But as with all things bike, I soon got used to it. It's only really when I'm taking it easy that I go for 7th. Fuel economy, noisy can and all that.  :rolleyes
When I'm, spanking it, I never even get to top before the speed limit comes around! Sure I'm not alone there...

Don't worry for me, I have a healthy respect for the speed limit and not going faster when there's no room for it! I'm pretty keen on staying shiny side up. Plus I don't bounce like I used to!

Looks nice Fizzy. Armstrong discs - what's your verdict? Talking of discs, did you happen to sell your original discs on ebay... cos if so I might be the one who bought them off you!

			-
Haven't got any decent pics I'm afraid, bit of a mess atm  :\
Actually you've made me think I ought to give it a wash and take a photo before winter really starts to take it's toll!

			-
looking good mate better than it did the first time i saw it
still needs a shine

			-
				lovely bike  :)

				Very nice Fazer, Fizzy mate
I've always liked the look of the original fazer shape and happy to have one now myself.  Yours is looking mighty fine indeed. The gear indicator looks like a cool gadget I could put on my xmas list lol.

			-
That is really interesting. I've been wanting to do something like that but I really don't have the resources or skill to make such a bracket. Anymore details?
Always find myself having to look down from the road to see my TomTom and something like this would make a heck of an improvement.

			-
Looking forward to seeing the contraption when it's finished and how much of a difference you find it makes. I have a Tomtom urban rider which doesn't need a case but I imagine it's pretty much the same.

That's unusual the way you have the wires going upwards on the grips, especially on the throttle!

			-
Ah stainless domed nuts & washers for exhaust headers-good move!

			-

I disagree, the other way is just wrong for me! But what really wound me up when i received the kit, sat reading through the manual was that oxford even said they could be mounted both ways, so why the foc did they decided to have OXFORD upside down the way I have fitted them? bastards  :lol .
Probably because the majority of people would have the cables going downwards, so that Oxford would be seen at the top.
I'm not having a dig, it's just that i've never seen them fitted like that before.  :)

I know you're not ;) . It was bugging me too that they would be behind the brake lever, and the wired coming towards me was getting in the way on the test fit. And i get your point about the position of the logo, but still, if they say your can have them either way why make one way upside down, morons  :rollin
Have you had heated grips before?
I couldn't be without them now, whoever created them needs a pat on the back.

			-
In your last photo the stuff in the packet is of course a replacement front sprocket nut and lock-washer, hopefully the 12mm nut  :) .
That sat-nav position is looking very good and should be easy to glance at without taking your eyes of the road too much.  :thumbup

			-
Well I have the clutch side grip positioned with the wires coming out underneath, and the throttle side with the wires coming out from the top  :b
The reason for this is if the rhs grip is positioned so the wires come out from below, if you're braking (heavily) whilst the throttle is open, there potential for the rubber bit where the wires exit to interfere with the brake lever. In theory that should not happen that often, but I frequently blip the throttle on downshifts so it's better to be on the safe side. I don't trail brake on the road either but that is another scenario where interference could occur.
Loving the satnav bracket Fizzy!

Braking heavily with the throttle open?
If you're looking from the right side of the bike i think i've positioned the cable at about the 7 o'clock mark, so it won't interfere at all.
Each to their own though.  :)

Or perhaps I should say when the brake lever comes back towards the bar. Eg. If your brakes need bleeding that could happen whilst not necessarily braking super hard. Shape of the lever could also influence how soon contact between that protruding bit of the grip and brake lever occurs. For me, as we're talking brakes, there's merit in being on the safe side.
If you blip the throttle on downshifts, you are usually braking, sometimes very hard with the lever pulled all the way back, whilst pulling the clutch in and opening the throttle, sometimes a lot, to match the engine revs to the rear wheel revs. So yes braking heavily with the throttle open does happen if you employ this technique. Also, if you are trail braking, you can brake surprisingly hard whilst maintaining an open throttle mid corner. However, most people do that on track not the road, if at all.
If where you've positioned your grip means that there isn't any contact at max open throttle and max lever pulled back, like you've done Darrsi, that's the safest arrangement imho. Each to their own, as with riding technique & style, but a mate of mine had interference on his bike and it did bother me somewhat, me have OCD perhaps  :lol

CDO looks better

Very professional looking job. How much did the whole thing set you back?

You need to hold onto them for long enough to get the full benefit.  :b

That's a neat job... wouldn't have believed there was room for it there. :thumbup
I installed mine under the seat, it's at a pretty shallow angle but that doesn't affect it and refilling is a doddle.

			-
I have those grips Fizzy, be interesting to see if yours do the same as mine on the left side, i.e. as you roll your hand forward to grab the clutch lever you wear away the grips to the point of it becoming smooth.
Note to self need to pass feedback to nick crisp!!

			-
Does that camera just uplug easily enough?

			-

Are you asking would it be easy to pull off any run away with?
No, more like when you park up do you just unplug it and take with you?

			-
Can we have some video from the camera, is it good etc?

Can we have some video from the camera, is it good etc?
We can, but not at the moment since the bikes having some surgery at the minute.
As soon as I can get it back to standard for a ride I'll upload some footage here.
Just found a really good review on you tube, seems real good value for money with loads of kit, but I'm worried that its not good enough resolution to get those number plates.
sorry for hijacking.

I have the original style Oxford grips and I have exactly the same as you on the clutch side.
RE cameras, would love to have a wired in permanent cam set-up but living in London & parking up on the street all the time, I know it's gonna be tampered with so I have a Contour Roam2 that I mount either on the fairing or on my lid instead.

			-
				Now your making me jealous.

			-
thanks for sharing those - will be knocking a set up soon

			-
Thanks for this Fizzy & Limax2. Very neat, think I lack the necessary fabrication skills to knock one up though which is a shame :o

When I saw where you mounted it I thought that the fairing would obstruct the sides but it dosent does it.

Very impressed with the first video (Rivington to Belmont) and the sound effects with little  or no wind noise.
I'll watch the second one when the blood has drained back from my head  ;) .

			-
Watched the second video this morning with the laptop screen laid flat and viewed from behind. Much better than spending 5 minutes stood on my head  ;) . Looks like you had a better run with less traffic in the way.  Makes me want to get out on the bike.
Next time you download a video why not turn your computer upside down so that when later viewed the picture will be the right way up?  May have to catch any megabits that fall out through the vents. Hope that helps.

i think you can flip you screen by pressing
Ctrl+Alt+Down arrow or Ctrl+Alt+Up arrow
