Title: Rocker cover water pipes
Post by: esetest on 01 November 2013, 07:34:46 pm
What is the best way to remove the water pipes going into the rocker cover , I have had a look and it seems you need to remove the radiator filler unit , pull that off with the pipe attached , then remove the bracket bolted to the frame in order to gain some leverage to remove the two short water pipes .
Thanks in advance for any advice given .

Sounds like you already have the best approach, thats pretty much how I removed mine.
If you are taking the cam cover off blow an air line down around the plugs and waterpipes before removing as there will probably be crud down there waiting to fall into the cams.

Don't forget the m6 Allen bolt holding the water pipes in situ.

If like me you use the compressed air trick as hindsight not forethought a greased cotton bud picks most of the rusty crap out of the cams.  :\

Are you talking about the bolt underneath the rocker cover near the water pipe , as I can't see any way to get the rocker cover over the water pipes to slide it out .
