C63 is my (sensible) dream car. That one must have been unrestricted.

There are far too many cars in the world for me to pick one dream car...

Maybe an old Mustang GT Fastback? I don't know... too much choice :(

What I meant by sensible is a dream car that is within my reach as such. Can be used everyday by the wife and really used on a Sunday by me :lol

She doesn't share my dream :(

Hope you're not planning on using it to undertake bikes at 280 km/h  :eek

I used to have an Astra Sporthatch with the VXR style exterior styling pack. I replaced the SRi badge on the back with a VXR one.
The amount of people who thought it was a VXR was unbelievable :lol

SO.....

R1 from £11,999
Mercedes C63 AMG from £57,275

you need £45,276 to beat a top sports bike.

I know where my money would go, and i would have more fun and wont be classed as a cock.

And i forgot this only really tests straight line speed which a souped up car will always win.

I bet it goes round corners faster than the R1 as well :)

In this sort of class, a motorcycle is only really going to win on acceleration and weight - not even sure if it will win power-to-weight ratio either...

Reasonably sure that's a Black series or a Brabus - no way a AMG would pull away at 185mph like that even de-restricted (end of video)

Lush car!

A delimited C63 with a mild tune will do 320kph+ from what I've read.

That bike was doing over 299.  It got there at 13k rpm and pulled up to about 13,750 which has to be 310-315, although that would depends on how accurate the rev counter is.

Its not real world though is it ?...big cc cars are fast on an " endless" straight. But add in traffic, stops etc...still few big cars which can make progress like a bike can. Plus, dont even want to think what the mpg of the merc is at this speed !  :'(

Have encountered very few cars on normal roads which keep up with a large cc bike , as much due to traffic limitations as anything.
Have experienced a M5 on the A2 which was very quick up to 150, but that was an empty 3 lane motorway.
Only time on my fazer I encountered  a ferrari on a twisty road  , he couldnt keep up.Probably didnt want to risk his pride and joy  maybe ?? But ferraris are big wide cars on B roads.
You have to be  avery good driver to pilot these beasts on a twisty road.
Best cars IMO for the real world are yer hot hatches or suburus simply cos of their nimbleness. A 3.2 litre audi A3 is a potent car for sure. Let alone an Rs4 or 8.

Must still be very frustrating for most " fast " car owners as where can they use them for most of the time ? Pose is probably more the norm than real action.... :\

I've had three busas and a zx12r and ran thenm at woodbridge(3 mile runway) and Elvington to get a best top speed thru the timing lights, via an Internet forum called 200mph, over the last twelve years or so.
That 180 mph ish he is doing on a fifty yard wide runway with no other traffic is intense..I can't imagine how it would feel on a normal road with traffic. It's a mile every twenty seconds..you almost cannot think ahead fast enough to react to stuff coming over the horizon. Them extra miles from 190 to 200 are so difficult to achieve to to needing so much more power the faster you go to overcome wind resistance. Best I ever did was 196 on a 187bhp zx12r, my mate Andy was running alongside on the exact same bike making 250 bhp as it was supercharged, and for his extra 63 bhp he just cracked the double ton at 202.
And how about this for speedo error, my first busa had the legendary 220 mph clocks. I went thru the timing lights at Elvington indicating past the 220 at about 225. My actual true speed...181.2.  :(

I once chased one of the old Porsche 911 Turbos down my favourite twisty road in my beat up 1.6 Orion. Only one very short stretch where he started to pull away from me, but I was on his tail all the rest of the way - it's as much about knowing the road well, as obviously that Porsche should've left me for dead. He had a passenger in the car, he must've been well embarrassed!
