Title: Fork Seals
Post by: Tefer on 05 October 2013, 06:01:09 pm
Hey,

Looking to get my fork seals done soon some of the dust seals have started to split, there is no leaks that i can see but would be worthwhile changing all seals while changing fork oil.

The link above has all the part numbers for the seals, do these come as one so have to order two, or would price be for the pair? Also what parts should i be changing?

You will need an 8 and a 27 although these are the same part number so I don't know why they are listed separately.

Personally (and speaking form experience) I would only buy genuine fork seals and wouldn't bother to replace them if they are not leaking.

Yeah did wonder why list twice, made me think they come as one instead of the pair.

If i can get away with changing the dust seals only then i would, thinking of changing the fork oil and that too though so thought the seals could get done at the same time. These are genuine parts. ;)

You can buy genuine parts (using the part no's from the AJ Sutton website) from Wemoto ( http://www.wemoto.com (http://www.wemoto.com) )

They are often a little cheaper but the shipping is always lower from my experience :)

They come as singles when you are buying genuine.

The dust seals are very easy to change but replacing the main seals is a much more involved job.

That's the idea Dead Eye, just using the ajsutton site for illustration purpose :)
