Despite Exup's best attempts, my last blood test came back all clear. :eek
They're going to just call them the "US Islands"... :lol :lol :lol

Well, assuming bike is back together, yeah, be up for another ride. If not, I guess I could commit treason and turn up on other half's ZZR400. Just so long as everyone promises to not fall over, I'll be in deep shit if I trash her bike too...
Most Sundays, 13th onwards suit me best.
-
Sun 6th october. I think a few of us mentioned a ride out west so mr deadeye could join in so we could meet at the ace and head out west so anyone who knows a nice route can plan a ride. Who's up for this rideout?
-
Count me in. Got some ideas for a route; as mentioned elsewhere, you guys starting at the Ace makes a meet point easy - Hein Gericke on A40, Oxford. Burger wagon there for refreshments.
-
Ok nick...u wanna do a ride this munf on your fartless supadupa yellow rocket?
-
No, I was just gonna do it on me bike :lol
Will come back with route suggestion, but then someone will have to plot it on google maps, cos this dumbass don't know what he's doing on a computer :\ (Yes, I know, some would say same goes for on a bike - ha.........ha..........ha :rolleyes )

It's the other idiot on a yellow bike we should be worrying about! You're quite safe! (Based on pre-Ivanising, of course! :evil )
-
Well, thankyouverymuchsorr, very kind of you to say so!
Come in red86, your time is up! No sorry, that's red98 and he's in trouble again! Are you gonna be messing about in boats on this weekend again, or will the legendary 600 finally make an appearance, or will the thou win again???? Tune in for another exciting episode...... :lol
-
Got my daughter that weekend so no can do!
-
yep ..messing about on the river on saturday and late afternoon on sunday,if iam not playing with boats sunday morning i`ll be playing with my thou with a bunch of foccers :D

I should be able to make this one :)
update.......work canceled for the time being :rolleyes so at the moment iam coming....i know the cafe well and dont mind leading from the ace.......with a silver bike its hard not to do anything else :lol
-
Ok, the route I'm thinking is:
Meet at Hein Gericke on A40, OX29 4EN (burger wagon in car park for refreshments as previously stated).
Along A40, then down through Carterton and Lechlade, to Highworth.
B4000 to Lambourn (nice n twisty over the Lambourn Downs).
Back over the Downs up to Wantage.
Down the A338 to Hungerford (good winding A road, once again crossing the Downs) and carrying on through to Pewsey.
Then down to A342, turning west, through Devizes and on up to Chippenham, hopefully find somewhere for a coffee (I at least know of a place to park while we check out if anything's open in the town!).
Then A4 all the way back to Hungerford (some very nice winding stretches, very open and wide with plenty of passing opportunities if we meet any slower traffic).
Repeat of A338 section and direct to Oxford, take western ring road (A34) to put everyone back on the A40 for easy trip home.
I reckon from Hein Gericke, round this loop, and back to A40 is maybe 160 miles, perhaps less. If that's too much, there's a couple of places we could cut it shorter.
Hopefully, will be able to ride the route tomorrow and double check mileage, look for good break stops etc.
Sooooo, who's up for that?
-
It is 100 miles from me but I might be up for it depending on the date, start time and the weather, but I would like to as I am moved away from that part of the world.
-
I wouldn't mind doing the 108 mile trip to starting point for that one either. But as above depends on date
-
I refer the gentlemen to Exup's reply earlier on this thread - Sun 6th Oct. Next weekend.
This'll give you guys quite high mileages for the day, but there are some relatively easy turn points if you get fed up half way through, or I can cut the whole thing a bit shorter.
10:30 am @ Hein Gericke?
-
So is it the old rumbling tums cafe?
-
So is this the gloucester wiltshire oxfordshire fockers ride under lofo name or is there going to be double bubble for october :)
-
Likewise. I'll join up again when you go North, East or South :rolleyes
-
10:30 @ Hein Gericke sounds good Nick. We can meet at the Ace @ 9am and leave @ 9:30. An hour should see us there by half ten.
Midden.....its just a rideout goin west. Everybody welcome. Be good to seeya there.

-
anyone checked the weather for sunday........DEADEYE.....you coming up from bristol ?
He better had. That's why we're goin west.
-
Trying to make it - we'll see how poorly the bike is. All the motorway riding recently has made the handling worse than it was before. Its in desperate need of attention otherwise I'm pretty sure it will fall apart during the rideout... that or I will be some 10 or 20 miles behind you lot poodling along behind some stupid Nissan Micra or Honda Jazz :rolleyes
-
Normal riding for u then deadeye hehe
-
Might not make this one after all, got a long weekend so was thinking of stripping carbs and giving them a clean out... Maybe next time when it's coming East again :)
-
Normal riding for u then deadeye hehe
Bah, it was fine until my red one got a bit too hot :'(

Bikes aren't made to go in straight lines, take the fun roads for once! :D

Hmmm, yes, struggling to find some really nice twisty routes out west - this may become a tour of the Cotswolds instead!

Very true but its not very nice when it wiggles in the corners as well :|
It's not very confidence inspiring at the moment. Sort of praying that it definitely is the head bearings as if it isn't then it means more money :(

Sounds more like a suspension problem to me?
-
If this is still happening Sunday , I would like to tag along , some good roads from Bristol to Hein Gericke on the A40 via Tetbury & Bibury .
-
Yeah esetest, I was thinking wherever we do go, to start with the Bibury road to Cirencester. I would say this definitely is on, weather forecast looks good for Sunday :)
-
Are you still planning to meet at 10.30 at the Hein Gericke on the A40 .
-
Yep, so far, that's the plan. (Maybe the only bit that won't change! :lol ).
-
Ok , see you there , this will probably be my last decent ride out before the winter .
-
Ok, getting close now so here's the line-up so far:
Kosmic Kartman
Esetest
Red98
Nick Crisp
Dead Eye
& possibles:
Dimitis
Any others for the Magical Mystery Tour? :lol

Bah, god knows what's wrong with the damn thing...
Just going to keep fixing as many cheap things as possible until it either dies spectacularly (in my true fashion ;)) or I can afford a decent condition Gen 1 thou :evil
-
Take it you've checked all the simple things first - tyres, wheels, wheel alignment (mine were out recently, I certainly noticed it!)? Like you say notchy headbearings can do that too - if you pop it onto the centre-stand and lift the front end up and move the bars side to side you can usually feel it though.
-
Sorry to let u down but i can't make this month's ride. I'm gettin me squirrell cut lol hope u all have a great ride ( weather lookin good atm ) and please be SAFE.

Amen to that! Ride safe foccers, and let's only see tyres and knees down on the tarmac. I'll be with ya in spirit.
-
I should be able to confirm tomorrow whether I will be able to attend or not :)

No worries, hope she's worth it! ;)
The rest of us will be enjoying one of the last decent weekend " :faz -time" sessions before winter arrives!
-
Sorry all, I can't make tomorrow's ride. I've had a week from hell which means I'll be working tomorrow.
I ride throughout the winter and as long as the weather is decent would still like to meet up in coming months, so I hope there will be more Lofo rides this year?
Hope you all have a good one :)
-
OK Change of plan.
I shall not be meeting anyone at the Ace cafe as previously arranged. I will be riding straight to HG (Oxford) from home. This means I get an extra hour in bed.
I will also be joined by my good friend Ivan - The Black Ninja, Grand Master and multi dan of all things Karate and self defence. He will be riding his Black Ninja and , like myself, is no slouch on two wheels. Also by the time we get to Oxford I should have run in my New Diablo Rosso Corsa ready for the days proceedings.
CU tomorrow.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot, I've got a new pair of PR2s to scrub in! Should be ok if the roads are dry :lol

A bit foggy here at the mo, but doesn't look too bad, will probably clear quite quickly.
Bill, food stop at Llandovery..... er, no, wrong ride out!
Food available at Hein Gericke burger wagon (not bad, no dodgy guts so far!), later who knows, whatever we can find - you could always bring a packed lunch!

-
I am leaving now, i have invented a new game " find the lost foocers" :lol
if i get to Chippenham then ride north i should meet the lost souls, saying "where are we" :) "Nick! Nick!
-
An enjoyable day out, sunshine all day once we got going, and the route worked ok (worked out by picking wiggly roads on the map and joining them up in a loop :lol ). After Liam (Dead Eye) got a bit excited and got to the meeting point an hour and a half before everyone else, and then had a very long wait as Kosmic and friend were delayed, the timing worked out pretty well, met with Slimwilly at the lunch break at Chippenham (could be some interesting video coming soon!), and blasted back along the A4 with people splitting for home as was convenient. Yes, all in all, I think it worked ok - I was a little concerned as I've been on plenty of group rides, but never planned and lead (most of) one before. Liam did an excellent lead on part that he knew pretty well too - cheers for that :thumbup
Good to meet you Paul (esetest), hope to see you on another ride soon!
And of course, I hope everyone got home safe and sound :)
Hope someone else got some good piccies, as mine refuse to post :(
-
Thanks Nick for a good rideout and organisation today :)
Had a fantastic time out especially with the bike mostly behaving for once haha - hopefully I didn't slow you all down too much when leading ^^ Covered about 300~ miles in the end by the time I got home - damned winter sun blinded me this morning and this evening but at least I didn't freeze on the way back ;)

I certainly try... definitely outclassed today though - showed on the long straights of the A4... I sort of got left behind a bit haha
If the roads are clear I can usually keep up... but you need a bit more forward planning and some extra room for overtakes on the 600 so I usually get a bit bogged down if the roads start to get busy...
Luckily my bike wasn't really in any of the pictures... "here we have several very clean and lovely thous... and a disgusting 600" :lol
