Did a run down to Salisbury today. Had been watching the rain all morning, blustery winds, thinking, yeah, but I need to RIDE!
So got going. Rain stopped, was still pretty windy though, and had to watch on some corners where the wind tried to snatch the wheels out from under me. But that A338 has some pretty good stretches where fun was had. Hit another flood with associated bow wave, stopped to take a pic for photo challenge on another forum (your bike with both wheels in 2+ inches of standing water) - how no one beat me to it I'll never know. 2 more similar floods were traffic light controlled, and took these at a more sensible pace.
Got to Salisbury where the guy controlling the parking at the cathedral tipped me off to a MAG organised do in the market place on 13th April (Sunday) - will be custom and show bikes, food stalls etc. Sounds like a good day out so might go. He also watched over the bike while I had a stroll around - good man
