Firing order on a 99
« on: 28 March 2023, 05:16:09 pm »
hey all, hope some of you guys are getting some good weather, currently im trying to figure out why my bike is running rough, i think ive narrowed it down to needing new spark plug caps, but im also not sure if i have the ht leads going to the correct cylinders, i cant find any mention in the haynes book or this forum for what order the engine fires in AND which coil pack does which cylinder, any help would be much appreciated, many thanks in advance!!

1 and 4 are fed from the left  coil and 2 and 3 from the right coil, looking at them as if  you are sitting on the  bike.Cylinders are 1, 2, 3, 4 again left to right for the position mentioned

BB going on the valve clearances check it has to be  1-2-4-3
Check Cyl 1 with all valve closed
rotate 180degrees cyl 2 all valves closed
rotate 180 degrees cyl 4 all valves closed
and finally rotate 180 and 3 all valves
