This is potentially a good approach, not much we can realistically do with the actual acronym but maybe the can re-define the letters - well, the U :P

Everyone has a right to express their opinion of course, but can I suggest to anyone who's offended by our club's name that they go and start another one with a more fluffy name that doesn't offend your granny? Perhaps you could even 'hijack' that unused one that was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Next you'll be suggesting we can't have a foc-u salute because it means taking a hand off the bars for a second.

Whats your problem purple bear? Youre quite happy to spout off your opinion, so dont get arsey when others do the same. As stated previously, if you dont like the name ... LEAVE!!!  For that reason alone I vote the name stays!!!

I suspect it involves either one or two finders waved in an upright position..  :rollin

Personally I dont have a problem with the FOC-U logo.. it says exactly whats on the tin.. we are Fazer owners.. The fact its a play on words to make it sound a little naughty aint a problem.. you either take it for what it stands for officially or you look at the humourous side of it..
I still want a t shirt and bike sticker though, Im sure itll sit great right beside my IAM one  :evil    8)

I have no problem being a member of FOC-U as I was a member of COC (Capri Owners Club) in my younger days.  :D
Biking is about the Journey NOT the Destination...

Based on the post, I believe so. It was brought up in another thread a few days ago in the 600 forum

What's the Foccer salute? :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek

These pesky kids, eh!

Clenched left fist held to side of helmet, as demonstrated by Matty in the 3rd pic in this post

Doddsie .. well seeing as how you are asking me ..

Main part of my problem is You!  I note (from your profile page) that you actually joined this group and registered that fact on the 13th of December 2012.  Almost FIVE WEEKS ago !!

Well .. in my book .. it's a bit brown when some new nuptie turns up and starts shouting at guys to LEAVE .. just because they have done nothing more than voice an opinion. I know very well that the FOC-U tally will almost certainly never get voted off .. that don't mean I have to like it!

I recon you'd do well to go back up to line one of my original post on this topic .. quote: ''I quite like this group''. Have a good read, then check out some history .. maybe even look at a few photo's .. and then .. Bugger Off yourself.

Just for your info .. I joined the Fazer Gen1 Clan way back in 2001 (12 years ago) within a few weeks of the FZS 1000 cc bike being launched and me buying one.   Several of the original few guys had active duel membership in here and the Fazer 1000 Owners Club (still on line but quiet because the Gen 1 is no longer made and it never was near to being a 'Social Networking' type group like this one)

I re-registered in here in 2005 .. when I moved to live in Spain and I took the opertunity to change my contact details .. so in any book that gives me 8 years service.

I'm really sorry Guys ..
It was not my intention to drag this one on .. but I never was one for walking away .. from anyone or anything!

Stay Safe  ;)  Trev   The Polar Bear.   Spain

That's the weird thing about Snickers, they were called Snickers everywhere else in the world except here. I remember seeing them in Saudi in '86.

However, my wife still calls them Marathons - she's got the old Colonial spirit  ;) :lol

Polar Bear Trev.

agreed, you just keep doing what yer doing and never mind these n00bs with their desire to have folk disappear whether or not they know and appreciate the years of info, advice and quality input irrespective of the name.

I also feel it right to point that there's no need to apologise.

hello foccers!!!!!

i posted this topic not because i wanted to change the name of the site but possibly the unofficial to another u word. the negative aspect of the word form me is  less inspiring than UNIFIED which i think is worth a vote(site mods take note) we can keep the foc-u which i love and have a u word at the end that makes us more of a group. i have a fazer thou gen1 thats official, i am now a member of a brilliant forum regarding all things Fazerish and thats official too and get to chat and meet some great people with similar interests. i dont mind what the site is called and do respect the members who have been posting for years and their views. peeple r right when they posted keep it as it is and so by changing the last word to unified i think that would keep everyone happy. FAZER OWNERS CLUB UNIFIED waddya think guys and gals.....worth a vote?

Theres so many other options for U words though...
Ultimate?
United?
Unchanged?
Umbrella?
Ubiquitous?
Unrivalled?
Unanimous?

If I'm honest i was under the impression the unofficial meant that the site was subscription free and wouldnt have yamaha sticking their oar in deleting/censoring posts regarding common faults and complaints (like the front sprocket nut for the FZS600). I didnt consider the name too much tho as i was lurking for about a year before i joined so had an idea what was in store.
