Bought the Mivv GP carbon the other week - this is what it looks like on the bike.

Bought it from BR Performance:

www.brspecialtuning.co.uk

I ordered it Thursday & it arrived the Friday afternoon. The service is faultless & I can highly recommend the  Mivv GP.

I originally wanted to get a Remus xtra short powercone but they are now discontinued, TBH - i'm glad I got this one instead!  :)

Just noticed it's for a Gen1 - all the above still applies I hope? :thumbup

Well, after much deliberation I decided to buy a Remus Extra Short Powercone ( Satin black with polished End Cap.) :D

I mentioned this at my local Yam dealers whilst booking my bike in to have a new rear tyre fitted. (12/3/14) - Only just noticed that it was a Spooky date!! :eek

"Can we quote you for a price Mr Drax? From our supplier (Calsport) we can get it for £412-00(inc delivery)." I can get it from MotorSportsWorld for £404-00 (delivered)"

"No problem Mr Drax we'll knock it off the fitting charge"

At this point I must state that I'm having them both fitted at the dealers as:

1) I'm not going to even entertain changing a tyre myself

2) I trust this(my local) dealer to do a good job of fitting everything as they prepare Kevin Sanders bikes for his epic journeys ( I know mine won't get the same attention but....read on...)

Anyway for some reason there was going to be a delay in the delivery of the Remus exhaust (approx 3 weeks as the supplier is waiting for some parts to be delivered?)

No problem as I wasn't planning to get my bike out of storage until about now anyway.

Receive a call on Thu (03/04/14) - not too spooky - saying that Remus no longer manufacture this can.....Aaaaaarrrgggggghhhh!!!!!!! :wall

To make a long story longer: :)

I entered the interweb & decided to purchase a Mivv GP Carbon from BR special Tuning. (After a couple of recommendations on here) Ordered it on Thursday & it arrived on Friday morning. :D

The icing on the cake is that after waiting 3 weeks to be told it is discontinued - I can't book my bike in until 14/04/14 - Fairly Spooky!!

Go somewhere else I hear you say!! Bit difficult when I put down a £300-00 deposit for my (discontinued) Remus exahust. :o

Will upload pics as soon as everything is fitted.

If you're still reading this......Thanks for persevering! :thumbup

« on: 20 March 2014, 07:06:44 pm »
has anyone got a Blue flame end can baffle,

mine i think was out when i bought the bike, now when we are touring abroad we are going to use bike to bike intercoms,,and i want my puipe to be a bit more quiet,

if so if you could put a picture up then i could copy it.

If you contact Blue Flame they will send you one - for a fee of course - I found them really helpful when I wanted the s/s exhaust strap.

I remember taking the baffle out of my last BF exhaust & it was 'glued' to the circlip. Don't know if this was the OE or a bodge by the person i purchased it from on Fleabay.

I'll have a look round to see if I've still got the baffle -  & if I have I'll send it to you - but I only used to put it back in for the MOT.  :)

Have bought a 2nd hand one of the above.

In the destructions it says that there is a reflector bracket included. I don't appear to have this - just the hanger bracket / frame & fitting plate.

Does the OE reflector unsecrew & fit to this or will I be just as well buying a stick on reflector?

About to purchase a black radiator guard for my Gen 2 (as it's a black engine).

Looking at an R&G or an Evotech. Anyone fitted one of these or got any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Also fitted a Tribo grippy seat cover to stop her sliding about on the back - approx £13-00. That helped her(& me) as well.

Found out that I'm a twat as I had the necessary fitting brackets all along - it's just that they were already fixed inside the belly pan.  :o

The only reason that I know this is because I searched the interweb & found that someone on sportbikes.net had posted a fitting with pictures. (I would have shared the link but they are tricky & won't let me copy/paste the link)

Thanks everyone for your replies. :thumbup

Mine was fitted but I had a look yesterday and its 2 brackets ... ill take a pic tomorrow for you.
Many thanks Gary :)
If IRC there is a little bracket each side toward the rear of the belly pan as well as the straight through fixings.
As I woke up an idiot - what does IRC mean?  :o
I had just written a load of text about the fitment of a Gen 1 bellypan and then realised you wanted info about a Gen 2. Doh
Been there. Done that! ;)

I've managed to aquire a used official Yamaha Gen2 Belly pan.  :)

However, there are no bolts with it & the guy who I bought it from said it utilises the 4 bolts on the bottom of the engine.(sump?)

Is this right or is there an official fitting kit & if so any ideas where I get it from?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, was only looking to use it on a bike cover - so the 'breathabiltiy' issue may not be too important as it's kept outside. (& during the current weather conditions)- there's a fair bit of breeze flowing round the old girl. ;)

Asked a Honda dealer how much he would give me in exchange for a X-Runner.  His answer was, 'why would you want to do that do that?'

Was he speaking Sudanese by any chance? :)

This bloke with Tourette's Syndrome walks into the most exclusive restaurant in town.

'Where's the pissing, mother f*cking manager, you c*ck sucking arsewipe?' he inquires of one of the waiters.

The waiter is taken-aback and replies, 'Excuse me sir but could you please refrain from using that sort of language in here. I will get the manager as soon as I can'.

The manager comes over and the bloke asks, 'Are you the f*cking
 manager of this b*stard place?'

'Yes sir, I am,' replies the manager, 'but I would prefer it if you would refrain from speaking such profanities in this, a private restaurant'.

'F*ck off' replies the bloke 'and where's the f*cking piano?' 'Pardon?' says the manager.

'F*cking deaf as well, are we? You snivelling little piece of shit, show me your c*nting piano.'
'Ah,' replies the manager, 'you've come about the pianist job' and he shows the bloke to the piano. 'Can you play any blues?'

'Of course I f*cking can,' and the bloke proceeds to play the most inspiring and beautiful sounding honky-tonk blues that the manager has ever heard.

 'That's superb. What's it called?'

'I Tried To Shag Yer Missus On The Sofa But The Springs Kept Hurting My Dick,' replies the bloke.

The manager is a bit disturbed and asks if the bloke knows any jazz. The bloke proceeds, playing the most melancholy jazz solo the manager has ever heard.

'Magnificent,' cries the manager. 'What's it called?'

'I Wanted A Wank Over The Washing Machine But I Got My Balls
 Caught In The Soap Drawer'.

The manager is a tad embarrassed and asks if he knows any
romantic ballads. The bloke then plays the most heartbreaking melody the manager has ever heard, 'And what's this called?' asks the manager.

'As I F*ck You Under The Stars With The Moonlight Shining Off Your Hairy Ring-Piece,' replies the bloke.

The manager is highly upset by the bloke's language but offers him the job on condition that he doesn't introduce any of his songs or talk to any of the customers.

This arrangement works well for a couple of months until one night, sitting opposite him, is the most gorgeous blonde he has ever laid his eyes on.

She's wearing an almost see through dress, her breasts are almost falling out the top of her black lace bra, and the skimpy little 'G' string she's wearing is doing very little to conceal her ample charms. She's sitting there with her legs slightly open, sucking suggestively on asparagus shoots as the butter is dripping down her chin.

The image is too much for the bloke and he scurries off to the Gents to masturbate. He's tugging away furiously when he hears the manager's voice.

 'Where's that b*stard pianist?'

He just has time to relieve himself, and in a fluster he runs back to the piano having not bothered to adjust himself properly, sits down and starts playing some more tunes. The blonde steps up and walks over to the piano, leans over and
 whispers in his ear,

'Do you know your knob and bollocks are hanging out your trousers and dripping spunk on your shoes?'

'Know it?' the bloke replies 'I f*cking wrote it.'

Just trying to judge whether he did hit a pothole or went in to fast on a greasy road /went a bit wide /hit a white line & the front washed out(in the vicinity of a pothole).

Either way I'm glad he's okay - even though he tried to sue the truck driver? :eek

Watching the TV yesterday some companies posted their end of year (2013) results:

BP (only) made £8.2 billion down from 10billion last year -as a result their share price plummeted.  :\

However a company called Ocada seems the way forward. They do the home deliveries for Waitrose & a few supermarkets. In the last 14 years of trading they have never EVER made a profit & yesterday posted a 2013 loss of £14.5 million pounds.

Their share price went up significantly.  :eek

Now how the hell is it that a company that makes a profit year in year out e.g BP the shares go down but a company that makes has never made a profit EVER i.e run at a loss in 14years of trading - the shares go up?

Apparently Ocada shares are due to go through the roof exponentially in the next few years as on line trading is going to shut down the high street. So that's where you should put your MIL's money  :)

General / Waterproofing Spray
« on: 06 February 2014, 05:33:38 pm »
In the past I've used Nikwax tent proofing spray to add an extra bit of protection to my Oxford Stormex cover. As I've run out I was going to order some more off fleabay. What I've noticed is a load of people selling Silicone spray.

Question is:

Can you use silicon spray as a waterproofing agent & are there any downsides with using it ie. deterioration of the material it's used on?

I can get silicon spray from work so I don't want to be buying something that I don't have to.

Thanks

Does anyone have a bladder problem as mentioned being in my 65th year nearly, I am a percy piss quick, especially after a coffee. It is one of the wonderful things about touring in France. When a French man wants a pee, no matter were he is on the road. He will pull over and in full view, out with the tackle and pee away. No shame no embarassment.
I hate it when you are bursting, struggle to get the gloves off , tackle out oh the relief!!!!! then the agony when you qucikly pull the zip because you hear a car or someone coming. Oh those heavy duty zips, you do not know to continue pulling up the zip and risk amputation or say fuck it and unzip again. The looks you get when you are checking your pride and joy to see if there is any damage done.  :'( :eek

Coffee is a diuretic i.e it a substance that makes you pee more.

Nick Sanders (some guy who travels a lot on a bike) recommends (in an article somewhere) that its vital you keep yourself hydrated using water /juice rather than tea/coffee for the above reason.

However..as your over 50 - if you contact Saga then they will send out some panty pad / liners in case you dribble after youv'e shook. I only know this as I've just received some in the post. Gonna kill my wife!! :)
